    • Max Fried strikes out 13 in win over Boston
Max Fried allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Fried also struck out 13 on the day while walking just one. He did give up a home run to Dominic Smith, but it was the only extra-base hit he allowed in the game. He got 21 whiffs on 50 swings for an impressive 42 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. This Red Sox lineup is clearly short-handed due to injuries, but Fried was masterful on Tuesday and now has a 2.93 ERA on the year. He should be in line for another good start against the Nationals this weekend. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Career day against BoSox
Fried (6-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Boston, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out 13.

Advice: Fried fanned a career-high 13 batters Tuesday, surpassing 10 Ks for the first time since 2019. The southpaw yielded his first long ball in five starts, as lefty-hitting Dominic Smith launched a solo homer in the third inning. Fried has logged a quality start in six of his last eight appearances, a stretch in which he owns a 1.57 ERA and a 55:13 K:BB over 57.1 innings. He's scheduled to face the Nationals in Washington on Sunday. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

    • Tigers activate Shelby Miller for Tuesday return
Tigers activated RHP Shelby Miller from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Miller returns to Detroit’s high-leverage mix ahead of Tuesday’s contest against the Rangers following a three-week absence due to nerve inflammation in his right elbow. The 33-year-old righty has recorded a pedestrian 4.41 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 15/6 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (15 appearances) this season in his Tigers debut. Rotoworld Today, 3:12 pm
    • Officially activated
The Tigers reinstated Miller (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Miller has been sidelined since May 13 due to right ulnar nerve inflammation in his right elbow. He threw 2.1 scoreless frames while striking out three batters and walking one during his two-game rehab assignment, though the 33-year-old right-hander has not been nearly as effective this season as he was in 2023, posting a 4.41 ERA through 16.1 innings. Mason Englert was optioned to Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 3:02 pm
    • Return imminent
Miller (elbow) will be activated from the 15-day injured list as soon as Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Miller is done with his rehab assignment and has already rejoined the Tigers in Texas for their series versus the Rangers, but his activation will have to wait at least one day. He's been out since mid-May with right ulnar nerve inflammation in his elbow. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:41 pm
    • Earns another win
Bassitt (6-6) picked up the win Sunday, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings against the Pirates. He struck out seven.

Advice: Bassitt didn't seem to be held back at all after leaving his previous start with neck spasms, tossing 100 pitches Sunday and picking up his third straight victory. The 35-year-old has been part of the decision in all 12 of his starts this season and hasn't yielded more than three runs in an outing since April 26. During that stretch, Bassitt is 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA across 35.0 innings. He's scheduled to make his next appearance Friday at Oakland. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:50 pm

    • Notches fifth save
Sewald picked up the save Sunday against the Mets, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Sewald has been nigh unhittable lately, allowing just one baserunner over his past six appearances. The 34-year-old veteran has not allowed an earned run since his season debut back on May 7 and he is now a perfect five-for-five in save opportunities with a microscopic 1.08 ERA and 0.48 WHIP in 8.1 innings. • Holds on for save
Garcia secured a save after he pitched one inning, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Garcia entered the game in the top of the ninth inning, tasked with protecting a 5-3 lead. He surrendered a leadoff double to Oneil Cruz, then struck out back-to-back batters before Rowdy Tellez notched an RBI single. Garcia then punched out Ji Hwan Bae to end the contest, securing his third save of the season. He now possesses a 1.57 ERA and 0.74 WHIP on the year while striking out 29 batters over 23 innings in 22 appearances out of the bullpen. Garcia is likely the primary ninth-inning option for Toronto due to Jordan Romano (shoulder) being on the 15-day injured list. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:15 pm

    • Chris Bassitt strikes out seven in win
Chris Bassitt struck out seven across five innings in a 5-4 win over the Pirates on Sunday. He allowed three earned runs and walked one while securing the win.

Advice: Bassitt was able to navigate nine Pirates base runners to keep just enough runs off the board and earn his sixth win of the season. This was his third straight win in as many starts as he’s put a poor April in the rear view mirror and pitched much more like the ultra-steady Bassitt we’ve come to expect. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:14 pm
