    • Yordan Alvarez gets rare day off Tuesday vs. White Sox
Yordan Alvarez is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: The positive news here for fantasy managers is that Alvarez is healthy and it’s merely a routine off day. The 26-year-old slugger, who boasts a stellar .873 OPS with 14 homers and a career-high three steals this season through 71 games, is getting a break for the first time since May 18. • Breather Tuesday
Alvarez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the White Sox, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Alvarez will get a breather after he went 2-for-9 with two RBI and two strikeouts over the team's three-game series with the Tigers prior to Monday's off day. Yainer Diaz will slot in at designated hitter while Victor Caratini enters the lineup at catcher and bats seventh versus Chicago. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Fans six in no-decision
Fried allowed a run on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Detroit.

Advice: Fried worked five scoreless frames until the Tigers finally broke through with a run in the sixth inning. He wasn't very efficient Monday, throwing 60 of 103 pitches for strikes while failing to complete six innings for the second straight outing. Fried dropped his ERA to 3.11 with a 76:27 K:BB through 84 innings. He's currently in line for a tough road matchup with the Yankees this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:18 pm

    • Takes loss Monday
Miller (4-5) retired three batters with a strikeout but allowed a solo home run to take the loss in Monday's 2-1 defeat against Atlanta.

Advice: Ozzie Albies took Miller deep with two outs in the eighth, and then the righty got stuck with the loss when the Tigers couldn't muster any more offense. The veteran has now been scored upon in his last two outings, pushing his season ERA up to 4.03. Despite the recent struggles, Miller should hold onto a high-leverage bullpen role due to his track record the past few years. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:16 pm
    • Fried allows one run in no-decision
Max Fried allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 2-1 victory over the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Fried gave up four hits, walked three and struck out six. He left the game with two on and one out in the sixth inning, but Jesse Chavez escaped the jam without further damage. It was a solid start for Fried, though the Braves couldn’t provide him with any run support while he was in the game. He continues to have a nice season as he lowered his ERA to 3.11 with the effort. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road this weekend.

    • Blue Jays place Yimi García on IL with nerve issue
Blue Jays placed RHP Yimi García on the 15-day injured list with right ulnar nerve neuritis.

Advice: García will be shelved for a couple of weeks after all. Since Jordan Romano has a chance to beat him back from the injured list, García is probably droppable in shallow leagues. Chad Green is the favorite for saves in the Toronto pen for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:12 pm

    • Lands on IL with elbow injury
The Blue Jays placed Garcia on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right elbow ulnar neuritis.

Advice: Garcia was forced out of his save chance in Sunday's 7-6 win over Cleveland after experiencing right elbow soreness. The MRI after Sunday's game showed no structural damage to Garcia's right elbow, but it did reveal ulnar nerve symptoms, per Hazel Mae of Sportsnet. While there was optimism that Garcia would be day-to-day with the injury, he will now be on the shelf until at least the beginning of July. With Jordan Romano (elbow) still on the IL, Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Chad Green will operate as the interim closer for Toronto, according to Mae. • Day-to-day, no structural damage
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Garcia is considered day-to-day after an MRI on his right elbow revealed no structural damage but showed "ulnar nerve symptoms," Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Advice: According to Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star, the Blue Jays are describing the right elbow soreness that forced Garcia out of a save chance in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Guardians is being viewed as a "stinger." The club isn't too concerned about the injury, though Wilner notes that if Garcia hasn't made a full recovery by Friday, the Blue Jays won't hesitate to place him on the injured list. Schneider intimated that the Blue Jays will likely stay away from Garcia for at least Monday's game versus the Red Sox, with the skipper naming Chad Green as the team's interim closer for however long Garcia is unavailable. Before leaving early Sunday, Garcia had converted three consecutive save chances to solidify himself as the Blue Jays' preferred ninth-inning man while two-time All-Star closer Jordan Romano (elbow) remains on the IL. • MRI negative on Yimi Garcia’s elbow
Yimi Garcia’s MRI revealed no structural damage, but it’s still possible he’ll land on the IL with a nerve issue in his elbow.

Advice: The Blue Jays were happy with the MRI results and see this as a short-term issue, even if it might cost him 15 days. Brandon Eisert has joined the Jays as the likely replacement if Garcia goes on the IL. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:13 pm
