      Advice: Fry has a pair of three-hits games over his last nine contests, going 13-for-26 (.500) with four homers, three steals and 11 RBI in that span. The utility man is on another level lately, though he's been strong throughout the campaign with a .357/.492/.622 slash line, seven homers, 23 RBI, 26 runs scored and four steals over 128 plate appearances. He's started three straight games in left field, but that avenue into the lineup will close when Steven Kwan (hamstring) returns from the injured list.       David Fry went 3-for-3 and hit a three-run homer Tuesday against the Rockies.

      Advice: Fry wasn’t expected to make the Guardians out of spring training and then wasn’t slated to play against righties once he did make the team, but all he’s done so far is hit .357/.492/.622 with seven homers and four steals in 128 plate appearances.       Yates allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two over one scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: This was Yates' first save since May 8, as opportunities have been few and far between for saves recently. He pitched four times between saves, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over three innings.     • Short start as expected
      Eovaldi allowed two runs on five hits and struck out two without walking a batter over three innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

      Advice: Eovaldi wasn't sent on a rehab assignment and was reportedly on a pitch count for his return from a groin strain. The right-hander ended up throwing 37 pitches (27 strikes) in his first start since May 2. Eovaldi is at a 2.84 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 46:19 K:BB through 44.1 innings over eight starts this season. Given his limited workload Tuesday, Eovaldi may need to be stretched out over the next couple of weeks. That may make it tough for him to qualify for the win in his next projected start. It's possible Eovaldi pitches again this weekend versus Miami, as Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports Andrew Heaney -- who threw 2.1 innings in relief Tuesday -- could be used as a long reliever while the Rangers' schedule doesn't require them to have five starters.       Kirby Yates earned his eighth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Yates had to tightrope out of danger to earn the save in this one. The righty allowed a two-out walk to Eugenio Suárez only to see a single by Gabriel Moreno move Suárez into scoring position. Fortunately for Yates, a strikeout of Kevin Newman would end the game and secure the win for the Rangers, who have now won back-to-back games after dropping their previous six.     • Eovaldi goes three innings in return from IL
      Nathan Eovaldi allowed two earned runs over three innings in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: After pitching a perfect first inning, Eovaldi ran into trouble in the second, allowing the first three batters he faced to reach base, with Pavin Smith doubling home Christian Walker to give the Diamondbacks their first run of the night. He would give up another run in the inning on a Eugenio Suárez sacrifice fly. He would only pitch one more inning before being pulled after 37 pitches, functioning somewhat as an opener for the Rangers after the team opted to scratch Dane Dunning from his scheduled start. It was Eovaldi’s first outing since May 2nd after he was placed on the 15-day IL with a groin strain.       Rodriguez (5-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Red Sox, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out 10.

      Advice: Rodriguez got off to a rocky start Tuesday, allowing a pair of runs in each of the first two innings. The 24-year-old Rodriguez would settle in and hold Boston off the board over his final four frames while recording a career-high 10 strikeouts. However, the Orioles couldn't overcome the early deficit in the eventual 8-3 defeat. It's the first time since April 23 that Rodriguez has allowed more than two earned runs in a start -- he'd gone 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA in his previous three outings. Overall, he sports a 3.53 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP and 61:21 K:BB across 51 innings this season. Rodriguez's next start is currently scheduled for early next week in Toronto.       Jordan Westburg went 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBI in a loss to the Red Sox.

      Advice: Westburg drove both runs in on a 103.7 mph single in the first inning. He now has 34 RBI to go along with a .291/.351/.508 slash line. While the 25-year-old has cooled down a bit from his torrid start to the season and is pulling the ball far less than he was in April, he continues to produce, hitting .278 with three home runs in 24 games in May.     • Grayson Rodriguez stumbles early against Red Sox
      Grayson Rodriguez allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: The Red Sox jumped on Rodriguez early, scoring four runs on five hits in the first two innings, but the 24-year-old responded with four shutout innings to end his day. He also struck out 10 batters and walked just one on the day while posting a 38 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. It mostly came down to location with Rodriguez on Tuesday. The pitches the Red Sox hit hard were either pitches that Rodriguez missed his spots on or pitches early in the count that he was simply trying to throw over the plate.
