• Not starting Friday
Malloy is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Malloy will begin Friday's contest in the dugout after going 0-for-3 with one strikeout in Thursday's 5-0 loss. Over his last 10 games, he's gone just 2-for-25 with a 40.7 percent strikeout rate. Colt Keith will serve as the designated hitter Friday while Andy Ibanez starts at second base against Angels right-hander Zach Plesac. Rotowire.com Today, 3:32 pm

  • Michael Harris II not cleared to resume running
Michael Harris II (hamstring) has been throwing and taking swings but has yet to be cleared to resume running.

Advice: The dynamic 23-year-old outfielder is making progress in his recovery from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, but it’s hard to put a clear timetable on a potential return to the Braves’ lineup until he starts running again. Expect Ramon Laureano to continue to see increased playing time in the Braves’ outfield at least through the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 3:32 pm

  • Garrett Mitchell’s rehab assignment nearly over
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy noted on Friday that the final day for Garrett Mitchell’s (finger) minor league rehab assignment is on Saturday.

Advice: Murphy also told reporters that there haven’t been any discussions about activating the 25-year-old outfielder and optioning him to Triple-A Nashville. That means that the Brewers will have some decisions to make about their roster before the weekend is through. Rotoworld Today, 3:27 pm

  • Sitting Friday
Butler is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against Arizona.

Advice: Since being recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on June 18, Butler has gone 4-for-25 with one RBI and a 34.6 percent strikeout rate over nine contests. Daz Cameron will start in right field Friday and bat sixth against Diamondbacks right-hander Slade Cecconi. Rotowire.com Today, 3:02 pm
  • Rehab assignment ending soon
Manager Pat Murphy said Mitchell's (finger) rehab assignment will end Saturday and the team hasn't had discussions about optioning him, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: The Brewers are currently dealing with a logjam in the outfield, with Christian Yelich, Blake Perkins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio all seeing significant action during Mitchell's rehab from a fractured finger. Considering the injury and Milwaukee's outfield depth, it's possible that Mitchell will remain with Triple-A Nashville after being reinstated. However, Murphy's comments don't seem to support that possibility. Mitchell was removed from Wednesday's rehab outing with an unrelated hamstring injury but was able to suit up and play Thursday. Regardless of what level ends up playing at, Mitchell should be activated from the 60-day IL this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 3:00 pm

  • Sitting down against lefty
Pederson isn't in Arizona's lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Pederson will step out of the lineup Friday as the A's prepare to send southpaw JP Sears to the mound. Blaze Alexander will fill in as the Diamondbacks' designated hitter and bat second. Rotowire.com Today, 2:50 pm

  • Expected to play Saturday
Fraley (calf) is expected to be back in the lineup Saturday at St. Louis, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
