      Advice: Anderson has made a mockery of the metrics all season, but especially lately; his last four starts have seen him allow a total of four runs even though he’s given up three homers and posted a 14/13 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings. Anderson has given up exactly one run in four straight outings despite registering a lackluster 14:13 K:BB during that span.     • Set for bullpen session Wednesday
      Manager Rob Thomson said Monday that Suarez (hand) will play catch Tuesday and throw a bullpen session Wednesday before the Phillies decide on the left-hander's next step, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Suarez was forced out after just two innings in his most recent start against the Cardinals on Saturday, when he took a 106.1 mile-per-hour line drive off his pitching hand. X-rays cleared Suarez of any structural damage, but he's still dealing with some bruising and swelling that could present some difficulty for the southpaw in commanding his full arsenal. The upcoming bullpen session will represent an important test for Suarez in showing the Phillies' coaching and training staffs that the injury won't affect his pitching. At this stage, Thomson said that Suarez remains in play for his next turn through the rotation, which falls during the Phillies' two-game series with the Mets in London this weekend. Cortes has been tagged with 10 home runs in 13 starts and has already given up multiple long balls in four outings. Sunday's start was his second shortest of the year, and he's now failed to complete six innings in four of his last five appearances. Cortes owns a 3.46 ERA and a 74:15 K:BB through 75.1 frames.       Marte went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double and a walk Sunday against the Mets, finishing with three RBI and two runs scored.

      Advice: Marte got the scoring going in the top of the first with a leadoff homer against Jose Quintana. He saved his best for last though, launching a decisive two-run shot in the ninth to propel Arizona to a 5-4 victory. The multi-HR performance was Marte's first of the season and the seventh of his career.       Juan Soto crushed a go-ahead two-run homer off of Camilo Doval in the ninth inning on Sunday, powering the Yankees to a come-from-behind 7-5 victory over the Giants.

      Advice: The Yankees entered the ninth inning trailing 5-3, but things got tighter in a hurry after a one-out RBI triple off the bat of Anthony Volpe. Two pitches later, Soto uncorked a 398-foot (108.2 mph EV) two-run shot that gave the Yankees a 6-5 lead. The 25-year-old superstar also opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 430-foot (108.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Blake Snell in the top half of the first inning.       Nestor Cortes struggled in a no-decision against the Giants on Sunday afternoon, giving up three runs on seven hits over his 4 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, Cortes did manage to record seven punchouts in the ballgame and didn’t walk a batter. Most of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Heliot Ramos launching a solo homer in the third inning and Casey Schmitt following suit in the fourth. Cortes got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches in the contest, while posting a CSW of 27 percent.
