    • Andrés Muñoz named to American League All-Stars
Mariners right-hander Andrés Muñoz was named to the American League All-Star team as a replacement for Logan Gilbert.

Advice: Gilbert wasn’t going to be able to pitch in the game, so the American League squad will add another lockdown right-hander to their late inning mix. It’s the first time in his career that he has made the All-Star team. He’s certainly deserving, having posted a 1.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 45/16 K/BB ratio over 37 1/3 innings on the season to go along with 15 saves and a pair of victories. Rotoworld Today, 4:53 pm
    • Mariners activate Bryan Woo for Friday start
Mariners activated RHP Bryan Woo from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: As anticipated, the 24-year-old hurler will jump back into the Mariners’ rotation on Friday night against the Angels. Woo has been sidelined since late June due to a right hamstring strain. He’s not expected to have any limitations in his first start back. Rotoworld Today, 3:46 pm

    • Activated off IL
The Mariners reinstated Woo (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Friday against the Angels.

Advice: Woo made his lone rehab start with High-A Everett on July 6, when he threw 45 pitches over 2.2 innings and allowed two runs on one hit and two walks while striking out two. In his eight starts prior to landing on the injured list June 25 with a strained hamstring, Woo went 3-1 with a 1.77 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 28:3 K:BB across 40.2 innings. To make room on the 26-man roster for Woo, the Mariners optioned right-hander Eduard Bazardo to Triple-A Tacoma. Rotowire.com Today, 3:10 pm

    • Struggles in save Thursday
Fairbanks allowed one run on one hit and two walks over one inning to record a save against the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Fairbanks got the ball with a two-run lead in the ninth frame and nearly blew the opportunity. He walked two of the first three batters he faced but managed to get Aaron Judge to foul out with one out. However, Ben Rice followed with an RBI single to plate a run and put the tying run on third base. Fairbanks escaped the jam by getting Gleyber Torres to pop out and thus recorded his 16th save. The run he allowed Thursday was just his second over his past seven appearances, and he's gone 6-for-6 in save chances during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:28 pm
    • Goes yard again
Ramos went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Ramos went deep in the first inning, though his blast only cut the deficit to 3-2. The outfielder has hit safely in seven straight games and has homered four times over nine contests in July, batting .333 (12-for-36) for the month. Overall, Ramos is at a .300/.371/.538 slash line with 14 long balls, 45 RBI, 28 runs scored and two stolen bases over 57 contests, production that has earned him a reserve spot on the National League's All-Star roster. • Can't complete fifth frame
Baz allowed three runs six hits and one walk while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Baz allowed solo homers to Austin Wells and Juan Soto in the second and third innings, respectively, but entered the fifth holding a 5-2 lead. He didn't stick around long enough to qualify for the victory, however, since he was removed in that frame with two runners on base and one out. It's not necessarily surprising that Baz was pulled in that situation given that it was just his second big-league appearance since his 2022 Tommy John surgery, though he had thrown only 68 pitches and demonstrated good control with 48 strikes after tossing 92 pitches in a six-inning win during his season debut July 5. It's not yet clear if Baz will remain in the rotation when Jeffrey Springs (elbow) returns to action, which could happen shortly after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:57 pm

    • Fairbanks picks up 16th save against Yankees
Pete Fairbanks allowed one run and picked up the save against the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: The save was Fairbanks’ 16th of the year. He walked two batters and allowed an RBI single to Ben Rice before getting Gleyber Torres to popout to end the game. His ERA is 3.31 on the season and he’s saved 11 games since the start of June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm
    • Baz allows three runs in no-decision vs. Yankees
Shane Baz allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Rays’ 5-4 victory over the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Baz gave up six hits, walked one and struck out five. His stuff looked electric, which was a good sign, but the results weren’t anything special. Baz gave up home runs to Austin Wells and Juan Soto and the Yankees also scored on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Baz has a 5.23 ERA after two starts and will look for better results in the second half of the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:56 pm

    • J.T. Realmuto (knee) won’t return this weekend
J.T. Realmuto (knee) will not return prior to the All-Star break.

Advice: There was some optimism that Realmuto would make it back to Philadelphia’s lineup prior to the Midsummer Classic after undergoing right knee surgery back in mid-June. The 33-year-old is currently rehabbing in Florida and figures to be ready to roll at some point following next week’s All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:08 pm
