    • Xavier Edwards has two hits in loss to Astros
Xavier Edwards went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Wednesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: Edwards had two of the Marlins’ six hits on the night and was responsible for their lone run when he drove in Emmanuel Rivera in the fifth on an RBI single. Edwards has hit safely in seven of his eight games in July while going 10-for-29 at the plate. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:39 pm

    • Daniel Schneemann goes deep in loss to Tigers
Daniel Schneemann walloped his fourth home run of the season on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Guardians to victory over the Tigers in Detroit.

Advice: Schneemann victimized Tigers’ right-hander Reese Olson with his 371-foot (97.1 mph EV) solo shot in the fourth inning, pulling the Guardians to within a run at 4-3. That was as close as they would get. The 27-year-old infielder finished the night 1-for-2 and is now slashing .247/.348/.506 with four homers, 14 RBI and one stolen base in 92 plate appearances to begin his big-league career. • Brooks Lee homers in comeback win over White Sox
Brooks Lee walloped a solo homer to power the Twins to a 3-2 victory over the White Sox in the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Lee’s sixth-inning homer off White Sox rookie Drew Thorpe, which barely cleared the right-field wall, was his second round-tripper in eight games since being called up last week from Triple-A St. Paul. It was his lone hit in five at-bats, but it wound up putting Minnesota on the board and jump-starting an eventual comeback victory. The 23-year-old top prospect is batting .364 (12-for-33) with two homers and nine RBI through eight games so far. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this juncture. • Sitting again Wednesday
Cruz (hamstring) isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Cruz will be missing his second start in a row Wednesday after being pulled from Monday's game due to hamstring soreness. Jared Triolo will pick up another start at shortstop as a result, batting ninth. Alika Williams is no longer with the Pirates as a member of the taxi squad, per Alex Stumpf of MLB.com, which could indicate that Cruz will soon be available. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:42 pm
    • Nicky Lopez starts at shortstop, goes 0-for-3
Nicky Lopez went 0-for-3 as the White Sox’s shortstop in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Twins.

Advice: The White Sox planned to revamp their infield Tuesday and followed through today after the rainout, shifting Lopez from second to short, Paul DeJong from short to third and Lenyn Sosa from third to second. Never in baseball history has the comparison phrase “rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic” been more apt, but it does put Sosa at his natural position, which is good. It certainly does nothing for DeJong’s trade value and makes one wonder if he’ll still have a role after Yoán Moncada comes off the injured list. Lopez is a trade candidate, too, but he seems more likely to stick around, even if he’s pushed into more of a mentor role in the second half. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:02 pm

    • Resting for second leg of twin bill
Castro is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Advice: Kyle Farmer will get the nod at second base in the nightcap after Castro manned the keystone in the Twins' 3-1 loss in Game 1, going 0-for-3 with a walk. Castro is on the bench for the first time since June 20, ending a streak of 17 consecutive starts. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:48 pm

    • Rejoins lineup for doubleheader
Farmer (finger) will start at second base and bat ninth in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Advice: Farmer hadn't played in either of the Twins' last two games after he exited the team's 3-2 win over the Astros on Sunday, when he was hit on the index finger by a pitch. The injury is apparently a non-issue at this point, however, as Farmer will head back into the starting nine for the second leg of the twin bill. The right-handed-hitting Farmer typically makes most of his starts against left-handed pitching, but he'll face off against White Sox righty Drew Thorpe on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:45 pm

    • Hitting bench for nightcap
Lopez is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Twins.

Advice: He'll cede his spot in the infield to Danny Mendick in the second leg of the twin bill. Lopez started at shortstop in the White Sox's 3-1 win in the first game of the day, going 0-for-3 at the dish. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:42 pm

    • Out against left-hander
Hamilton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Jamie Westbrook and Ceddanne Rafaela will serve as the Red Sox's starters in the middle infield while the lefty-hitting Hamilton sits against southpaw JP Sears. Hamilton should continue to serve as Boston's primary option at second base against right-handers with Enmanuel Valdez having been optioned to Triple-A Worcester. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:39 am
