• Summoned to big leagues
The Guardians recalled Noel from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. He'll start at first base and bat sixth in the Guardians' series finale in Baltimore.

Advice: Noel will hit the big leagues for the first time. The 22-year-old slashed .295/.359/.578 with 18 home runs over 65 games with Columbus this season. Much of that production has come since the start of May, with Noel producing a .343/.404/.651 line with 14 home runs in 43 contests over that stretch. Noel has also struck out at just an 18.1-percent rate since May 1, which is a positive development for a player who has often struggled to make contact during his minor-league career. While he can handle first base and the corner outfield spots in a pinch, Noel's best shot at consistent playing time in Cleveland could come at designated hitter. • Healthy again at Triple-A
Harris (undisclosed) has gone 4-for-8 with two solo home runs and two additional runs in two starts for Triple-A Sacramento since he was activated from the 7-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Harris spent just under a month on the shelf while recovering from the unspecified injury. He's hitting .301/.415/.496 with five home runs and three stolen bases across 135 plate appearances for Las Vegas on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:43 am
  • Brett Baty hits sixth homer since Triple-A demotion
Brett Baty hit his sixth homer in 15 games for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Advice: Baty is hitting .333/.388/.700 with more homers (six to four), more doubles (four to three) and more RBI (18 to 16) in 15 games for Syracuse than he had in 50 games in the majors. The Mets could have recalled him yesterday in place of Starling Marte, but with Mark Vientos having earned regular playing time, they decided against it. A Pete Alonso or J.D. Martinez trade next month could create another opportunity for Baty. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 am

  • On fire at Triple-A
Noel is slashing .402/.471/.705 with nine home runs and a 14.5-percent strikeout rate in his last 30 games for Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: With Kyle Manzardo failing to take a big-league job and run with it and Noel already being on the 40-man roster, Noel could get a shot as Cleveland's designated hitter sometime this summer. The righty-hitting slugger has huge raw power, and while he has seen 25 starts in the corner outfield spots this season, he's probably too big (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) to get regular starts in the outfield at the highest level. • Collects three hits
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI single and a run during Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Alvarez was excellent in his first career start, clubbing a double in his first at-bat before being driven in by JJ Bleday and then plating Shea Langeliers on an infield single in the eighth. The 29-year-old Alvarez had his contract selected Saturday, marking his first big-league stint since entering the minors in 2016. With Abraham Toro (hamstring) on the injured list, Alvarez should have some opportunities at third base, though he'll have to compete with Tyler Nevin for playing time at the hot corner. • Drives in three in win
Arias went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 10-8 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Arias has been in the lineup for the last two games since he returned from the family medical emergency list. The utility man provided a two-run double in the second inning and an RBI single in the eighth as one of four Guardians to log multiple hits in the contest. Arias is slashing .231/.262/.358 with two home runs, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and four stolen bases on six attempts over 141 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:15 pm

  • Armando Alvarez collects three hits in first start
Armando Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in his first big-league start Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: At age 29, Alvarez is no long-term regular for the A’s, but he might well prove to be an upgrade over Abraham Toro at third base. He had a .929 OPS in Triple-A this year after coming in at .960 for the Giants’ Triple-A club last year and .844 for the Yankees’ Triple-A club in 2022. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:38 pm
  • Getting day off Tuesday
Miranda is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: After making four consecutive starts, Miranda will get a breather for Tuesday's series opener in Arizona. Royce Lewis will handle third base duties while Trevor Larnach starts at DH. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:03 pm
  • Taking seat Tuesday
Urias is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Urias had drawn three consecutive starts at third base, but he'll give way to Jordan Westburg on Tuesday. During those three starts, Urias went 0-for-10 and snapped a seven-game hit streak. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:35 am
