    Advice: This was Wade's first three-hit game of the year, as well as his second three-walk effort. It's arguably the best example of what he's brought to the table in 2024 -- decent contact hitting and remarkable patience at the plate. Wade is batting .340 with a 19:12 BB:K over 19 games in May. For the season, the first baseman is at a .336/.484/.431 slash line with two home runs, 16 RBI, 20 runs scored, five doubles and one stolen base over 153 plate appearances. Wade briefly saw a full-time role earlier in the month when Jorge Soler was on the injured list, but since Soler's return, Wade has returned to a strong-side platoon with Wilmer Flores at first base.     Walker (4-2) pitched a perfect inning and struck out one, earning the extra-inning win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

    Advice: Walker kept the game tied in the ninth inning, and the Giants' offense exploded in the 10th to make him the pitcher of record. The right-hander has stumbled a little recently, allowing two runs over his last five innings, but he also has a 7:0 K:BB and three holds in that span. Walker is getting the job done with a 2.42 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB over 26 innings this season. He's added seven holds and one blown save while not seeing a lot of late-inning work, but his elite strikeout numbers make him an interesting option in all NL-only formats and some deeper mixed leagues as well.     Velazquez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Tigers.

    Advice: Velazquez had sat out the previous two games, suggesting he could be losing some playing time versus right-handed pitchers. He looked solid against Tigers lefty ace Tarik Skubal, taking him deep in the fourth inning. Velazquez is barring a meager .224 (11-for-49) in May, but he's hit two homers and driven in five runs over his last five games. The outfielder is slashing .226/.295/.368 with four homers, 13 RBI, 20 runs scored, one stolen base and seven doubles over 146 plate appearances this season. He's struggled to consistently tap into power as he did with 17 homers over 53 games a year ago, so it's possible Velazquez could continue to lose playing time to Adam Frazier or Freddy Fermin if he can't turn things around.     Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a walk and one RBI in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mets.

    Advice: Rodriguez went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his major-league debut Tuesday. He was in the lineup again Wednesday and delivered his first hit, an RBI single, in the seventh inning to put the Guardians ahead 4-3. The outfield prospect slashed .276/.389/.449 with seven homers and 28 RBI over 43 games at Triple-A Columbus prior to his call-up. Rodriguez has started the last two games in right field, pushing Estevan Florial and Will Brennan to left field.     Advice: Gaddis was the beneficiary of the Guardians' comeback push Wednesday, picking up his second win in five outings. The right-hander hasn't allowed a run over 9.1 innings in May while adding a 7:1 K:BB, two wins and four holds for the month. He's thriving in a high-leverage role in his first year as a full-time reliever, posting a 1.85 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB with 11 holds and three blown saves over 24.1 innings this season.     Advice: This was Polanco's first game action since he suffered the injury May 13 versus the Royals. The infielder is down to a .187/.291/.300 slash line with five home runs, 13 RBI, 15 runs scored and one stolen base over 172 plate appearances. While he has yet to get his bat going in his first season with the Mariners, he's likely to reclaim a starting role at second base. Verdugo won't get the accolades of fellow outfielders Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, but he's been a strong and steady presence as the Yankees' starting left fielder this season.
