• Taking seat Sunday
Loftin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: He'll give way to Garrett Hampson at second base for the series finale. Loftin had manned the keystone in seven of the Royals' previous eight games and should remain Kansas City's primary option at the position until Michael Massey (back) returns from the injured list. • Varsho hits grand slam for 11th home run Sunday
Daulton Varsho went 2-for-4 with a grand slam against the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: The home run was Varsho’s 11th of the season. He could’ve had an even bigger game as he came up with the bases loaded again in the eighth inning, but he struck out. While he’s only hitting .220, he’s produced in the power categories with 11 home runs and 35 RBI. His .238 ISO is even higher than his .207 iSO in 2022 when he hit 27 home runs with the Diamondbacks.

  • Resting against lefty
Benintendi is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Benintendi will cede left field to Corey Julks while the Diamondbacks bring southpaw Jordan Montgomery to the hill for the series finale. Since returning from the injured list Wednesday, Benintendi has made two starts and has gone 3-for-6 with a double, two walks and a run. Rotowire.com Today, 1:31 pm
  • Fading into reserve role
Colas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Colas is on the bench for the third game in a row and looks like he'll serve as little more than a fourth or fifth outfielder for the White Sox following the recent returns of Tommy Pham and Andrew Benintendi from the injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 1:30 pm
  • Idle against lefty
Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lopez will take a seat while southpaw Jordan Montgomery starts for the Diamondbacks. Danny Mendick will fill in for Lopez at the keystone. Rotowire.com Today, 1:28 pm

  • Hitting bench Sunday
Suarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Though manager Torey Lovullo hinted earlier this week that Blaze Alexander would receive more playing time at third base going forward, Suarez still appears to be the Diamondbacks' preferred option at the hot corner for now. Though Alexander will man third base Sunday, Suarez had started in each of the previous three games and went 3-for-8 with a solo home run and three walks across those contests. • Out for Game 1 of twin bill
Kepler (elbow) is out of the lineup for the opening game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Athletics.

Advice: The Twins are facing southpaw JP Sears in the first game of the day, so the lefty-hitting Kepler might not have been included in the lineup even if he wasn't nursing a sore elbow. Kepler could still be a candidate to start in the nightcap, when the Athletics will send right-hander Joey Estes to the hill. Rotowire.com Today, 11:33 am

  • Kepler out for first game of doubleheader
Max Kepler is not in the lineup for the first game of the doubleheader against the Athletics on Sunday.

Advice: Kepler is dealing with elbow soreness, and he’ll get at least the first game of the twin billing against Oakland off. It’s possible the 31-year-old wouldn’t be playing anyway with southpaw JP Sears on the mound for the A’s. Stay tuned to see if he returns for game two of the doubleheader. Rotoworld Today, 8:53 am

  • Tyler O’Neill collects two hits as Red Sox roll
Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI in Saturday night’s 8-4 victory over the Yankees.

Advice: O’Neill opened the scoring in the home half of the first inning with a one-out double off of the Green Monster that plated Jarren Duran from second base. O’Neill then raced around to score on an RBI single off the bat of Connor Wong. The 28-year-old slugger also singled in the second inning and scored on a two-run double by Rafael Devers. He has been productive when in the lineup this season — slashing .253/.348/.500 with 12 homers, 23 RBI and one stolen base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:33 pm
