    Freddy Peralta was tagged for six runs in 5 1/3 innings by the Reds on Friday.

    Advice: We sure do miss the Peralta of April. He gave up 10 hits tonight, which matches his total from both his first three starts and his second three starts. In fact. he had never before surrendered 10 hits in an outing. His velocity has held steady, and he got 16 missed swings tonight, but the Brewers couldn’t pick him up in this one.   • Jackson Chourios knocks in two against Reds
    Jackson Chourio singled twice and knocked in two runs against the Reds on Friday.

    Advice: Chourio would surely be back in the minors at this point if he hadn’t signed a long-term deal this spring, but it’s not like he’s embarrassing himself with a .229/.280/.365 line as a 20-year-old in a season in which offense has been hard to come by. His long-term outlook hasn’t diminished at all, even if he still doesn’t seem like a very good bet in mixed leagues over the rest of 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:24 pm
     
  • Strikes out seven in win
    Castillo (6-7) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings to earn the win over the Rangers on Friday.

    Advice: Castillo received an extra day of rest after Emerson Hancock got a spot start in Thursday's series finale versus the White Sox. It looks like that was a good move, as Castillo was able to bounce back from his worst start of the year to earn his third quality start in his last four outings. The right-hander limited the Rangers' offense to the first inning, when he gave up both runs and three of the four hits on his line. Castillo is now at a 3.32 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 92:24 K:BB over 89.1 innings through 15 starts. He's projected for a challenging road matchup versus the Guardians next week.   • Heliot Ramos hits three-run homer in loss to LAA
    Heliot Ramos hit a three-run homer and reached four times in a loss to the Angels on Friday.

    Advice: In addition to the three-run homer, Ramos also singled and drew a pair of walks. The 24-year-old has been outstanding in 2024 after struggling in his limited MLB chances in the past, and the four-reach game has him slashing .314/.400/.529 in 121 at-bats.   • Mickey Moniak triples, doubles twice in victory
    Mickey Moniak tripled and doubled twice while driving in a pair of runs in an 8-6 win over the Giants on Friday.

    Advice: Both RBI came on one of those extra-base hits, as he gave the Halos a 4-0 lead with a two-run double. The first pick of the 2016 draft is still slashing an ugly .192/.241/.282, but he does have a six-game hitting streak. It’s possible this is the beginning of turning things around, but nothing Moniak has done over his career suggests that’s a reasonable ask. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:17 pm
     
  • Carlos Estévez locks down save against Giants
    Carlos Estévez go the final three outs to get a save against the Giants on Friday.

    Advice: It didn’t look like Estévez was going to be necessary Friday night, but an 8-1 cushion turned into an 8-6 game, so the 31-year-old was called upon to convert his 11th save. The 31-year-old didn’t allow a hit, struck out one hitter and threw 12-of-17 pitches in the strike zone. Estévez should continue to see save chances as long as he’s a member of the Angels, but keep in mind a trade — very possible with Los Angels going nowhere — would likely make him a set-up hurler; severely limiting his fantasy upside.   • Tyler Anderson works around five walks for win
    Tyler Anderson gave up just one run in 5 1/3 innings to get a win over the Giants on Friday.

    Advice: Anderson struck out five, but he also allowed five hits and five walks. The 34-year-old threw just 59-of-105 pitches for strikes, and while there were some questionable calls, it’s fair to say that he didn’t have his best command. Still, he was able to get the job done as he has for the overwhelming majority of 2024, and this outing lowers his ERA to 2.58.   • Spencer Howard rocked for four in 2 1/3 vs. Angels
    Spencer Howard gave up four runs in just 2 1/3 innings to pick up a loss to the Angels on Friday.

    Advice: Howard was making his second start of the season. The first one went a lot better than this (4 2/3 IP, one run). The 27-year-old is a former Top 100 prospect who has bounced around organizations, and this was unfortunately an example of why. He gave up seven hits, walked four, and picked up just one strikeout.   • Jack Suwinski homers and walks in victory
    Jack Suwinski hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Rockies on Friday.

    Advice: Suwinski also drew a walk. The 25-year-old showed some fantasy promise at times in 2024, and while there’s still 90-plus games to go for the Pirates and the outfielder, he has not lived up to that promise this season with a .173/.270/.315 slash. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm
