    • Hits seventh homer
Marte went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI in Monday's 10-4 victory against the Marlins.

Advice: Marte swatted a 434-foot solo shot in the fifth inning and added an RBI single in the eighth. The veteran outfielder finished with two hits for the third straight game. He's on a hot streak that has lasted more than two weeks -- Marte has seven multi-hit efforts in 10 contests since May 29 and is batting .471 (16-for-34) with nine RBI, eight runs and two stolen bases over that stretch. • Homers again Wednesday
McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in a 17-9 loss to the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: McMahon cut the Rockies' deficit to 5-2 in the fourth inning with a 427-foot blast off Pablo Lopez, his 12th homer of the year. The 29-year-old McMahon looks to have broken out of a prolonged slump -- he's gone 4-for-7 with two doubles and two home runs in his last two games after struggling to a .115 average (7-for-61) in his previous 17 contests. Overall, McMahon's now slashing .267/.350/.462 with 36 RBI and 35 runs scored across 288 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Today, 8:43 pm

    • Starling Marte goes deep as Mets crush Marlins
Starling Marte went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI on Wednesday night, helping to power the Mets to a 10-4 victory over the visiting Marlins.

Advice: The 35-year-old outfielder clobbered a mammoth 434-foot (106.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Braxton Garrett in the fifth inning that increased the Mets’ advantage to 6-4. He also drove in a run with a two-out RBI single in the eighth inning that capped off the scoring in the ballgame. Marte drew a walk as well, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances. He has been highly productive when healthy this season, slashing .288/.338/.437 with seven homers, 28 RBI and 10 swipes in his first 59 games. Rotoworld Today, 7:48 pm

    • Matt Olson hits two-run homer against Orioles
Matt Olson went 2-for-3 and hit a two-run homer against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer, which accounted for Atlanta’s only scoring tonight, briefly evened up the game in the top of the eighth, but the Orioles went right back ahead in the bottom of the inning. It’s incredible that the Braves’ lineup has basically been the equal of the White Sox’s for about a month and a half now. Olson has actually picked up his play during this terrible span, but he’s not getting much help. Rotoworld Today, 6:38 pm
    • Next rehab start set
Cole (elbow) will make a third rehab a start Friday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Advice: The right-hander threw 57 pitches over 4.2 inning during his second rehab outing Sunday, and he'll move up to the Triple-A level as he continues building up his workload. Manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday, "we'll see" when asked if it will be Cole's final rehab start, so it's possible he's cleared to make his season debut for the Yankees next week. • Ryan McMahon homers in second straight contest
Ryan McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Twins.

Advice: McMahon has snapped out of an extended tailspin at the dish with homers in back-to-back contests after taking Twins ace Pablo López deep in the fourth inning of this one for his 12th round-tripper of the season. The 29-year-old infielder has been a reliable power source, but his batting average has been all over the place as he oscillates between hot and cold stretches. Rotoworld Today, 2:05 pm

    • Christian Yelich has three hits, steals base in win
Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with an RBI and also stole a base on Wednesday in the Brewers’ victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Yelich finished with a game-high three hits, including a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning, and also picked up his 12th stolen base in this one. The 32-year-old outfielder has been a revelation this season, batting .325 (51-for-157) with 22 runs scored, six homers, 30 RBI and 12 steals through 42 games. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm
    • Set to regain closer role
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Diaz (shoulder) will immediately become the team's closer upon his activation from the 15-day injured list Thursday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Diaz had been part of a committee at closer for the Mets prior to landing on the IL with a right shoulder impingement in late May. However, Mendoza is now ready to restore Diaz to his old role beginning with Thursday's contest against the Marlins. Diaz has converted four of his nine save chances this season while holding a 5.40 ERA and 30:7 K:BB over 20 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 1:13 pm

    • Edwin Diaz to jump right back into closer’s role
Mets’ manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed Wednesday that Edwin Diaz will jump right back into the closer’s role upon his return from the injured list on Thursday.

Advice: Mendoza told reporters, “For us to make a run at this, we’re going to need Diaz to be Edwin Diaz.” That means Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino will shift back into their high-leverage roles in the seventh and eighth innings. Before landing on the injured list with his right shoulder impingement, Diaz had posted a troublesome 5.40 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 30/7 K/BB ratio across 20 innings of work through his first 20 appearances on the year.
