      Paredes went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Paredes went yard in the eighth inning to tally his 12th homer of the season and only his second since May 31. He's hit only .229 in that span with nine RBI and six runs scored.     • Cole: velocity dip versus Mets intentional
      Gerrit Cole said after Tuesday’s start that he’s healthy and that he intentionally dialed back his velocity tonight after a long first inning.

      Advice: Cole topped out at 98.9 mph in the first tonight, but he was often throwing 92-93 mph in the second. He did pick it up some in the end, throwing his final fastball 95.3 mph, but it was an awfully discouraging performance. It’s good to know he doesn’t think he’s hurt, though.     • Allows six runs in no-decision
      Allen did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 10-8 win over the Orioles, allowing six runs on nine hits and one walk with five strikeouts over three innings.

      Advice: Allen surrendered at least one run in each inning he pitched, including three total home runs. He allowed back-to-back homers to open the fourth frame before being pulled at just 60 pitches. Allen had been off to a solid start in June, yielding six earned runs over 17 innings entering Tuesday, but this is now the third time this season he has been responsible for six or more earned runs in an outing.     • Cole allows four home runs in loss
      Gerrit Cole allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: There’s a fair amount to be concerned about here. The Yankees ace walked four and struck out nobody on the day. His fastball sat 95.4 mph on the day which was down 1.3 mph from his first start. He hit 98 mph in the first inning but by the third inning, he threw only four fastballs and just one was over 94 mph. Home runs hit by Mark Vientos and Harrison Bader were on fastballs that were 91.5 and 93.2 mph. Given that Cole’s elbow injury to start the year involved some nerve issues, there’s a concern that there remains a lingering impact on Cole’s health or performance. It could also just be one bad start, but this is the second outing of his career that he did not strike out any batters and the other was on May 20, 2016, so it’s certainly a performance we want to take note of.     • Brayan Bello shellacked in loss to Blue Jays
      Brayan Bello allowed seven runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

      Advice: Bello held the Blue Jays scoreless for the first two innings, but the wheels fell off in a big way in the third inning. The first six batters of the inning reached before Bello could get a groundout, but then a home run to George Springer chased him from the game. The right-hander did get six whiffs on 20 swings in his limited time but he threw on 42 percent of his pitches in the strike zone and had no feel for anything on the night. After a strong start to the season, Bello has struggled over his final seven starts, and the loss of feel for his changeup, which has been his primary pitch in his young career, is concerning.     • Logan Allen serves up three homers against O’s
      Logan Allen was torched for six runs over three innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Orioles.

      Advice: Allen was obliterated for nine hits, including three homers, and lasted just three frames in a back-and-forth slugfest at Camden Yards. He struck out five and only handed out one free pass. He’ll aim for better results his next time out on Sunday in a road outing against the Royals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm
       
    • Sidelined at least four weeks
      Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that Marte (knee) will be sidelined for "at least four weeks," Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

      Advice: Marte will be shut down for 15 days to allow a right knee bone bruise to heal and will need time to ramp things back up after that. A rehab assignment at some point before activation seems likely. Ben Gamel replaced Marte on the roster and could see some reps in right field, although DJ Stewart and Tyrone Taylor should be higher in the pecking order.     • Mendoza: Starling Marte (knee) to miss four weeks
      Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Starling Marte (knee) is expected to miss at least four weeks.

      Advice: It’s a significant loss for the Mets as Marte finally landed on the injured list ahead of Tuesday’s series opener against the Yankees after playing through a right knee issue for an extended period. The 35-year-old veteran corner outfielder has been diagnosed with a bone bruise and Mendoza indicated that it’ll be at least one month before he’s ready to return.       Advice: It qualifies as a step in the right direction that Romano was able to resume throwing, albeit light catch, over the weekend, after being shut down last week due to renewed right elbow soreness. The 31-year-old veteran stopper is going to have to build up his throwing program basically from scratch again and is probably going to be out through the upcoming All-Star break.
