    • Justin Steele remains winless after quality start
Justin Steele dropped to 0-3 after allowing three runs in seven innings Friday against the Reds.

Advice: Two of the runs scored in the fourth after Steele had Elly De La Cruz picked off first base, only for Cruz to reach second because of errant throw from Michael Busch. If that had turned into an out, Steele might have wound up allowing just one run tonight. He’ll face the Rays next. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

    • Bednar picks up 13th save Friday
David Bednar tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The save was Bednar’s 13th of the season. He blew three of his first four save opportunities this season, but since then he’s converted on 12 consecutive save chances. After a rough beginning to the season, he looks like one of the more reliable closers in the league. Rotoworld Today, 6:10 pm

    • Andrés Muñoz throws, could be available out of pen
Andrés Muñoz threw before Friday’s game and might be available to pitch against the Royals.

Advice: Muñoz has been unavailable since tweaking his already sore back on a collision at home plate during Tuesday’s game. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 pm

    • Return could be delayed
Alvarez (thumb) has flown back to his native Venezuela to tend to a family matter, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Alvarez had been set for activation June 11 upon the Mets' return home from London, but he might now be back a day or two later. The young catcher has been sidelined since April 20 with a fractured left thumb and has played five rehab games, going 3-for-14 with one home run. Rotowire.com Today, 6:14 am

    • Alvarez’ return from IL to be delayed
Francisco Alvarez’ (thumb) return from the injury list is likely to be delayed for a non-injury reason, according to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo.

Advice: Alvarez’ could’ve returned to action as early as next Tuesday, but now he’ll be delayed by a day or two. He had to fly home to Venezuela due to a family matter. Rotoworld Today, 6:09 am

    • Stays hot in win
Marte went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's 4-3 win over San Diego.

Advice: Marte delivered the go-ahead run in the seventh inning when his two-out single plated Corbin Carroll. Marte has rebounded nicely from an 0-for-22 skid in late May, going 11-for-28 (.393) with two home runs, two doubles, six RBI and five runs scored over the last eight contests. The Diamondbacks' offense could get a boost if the struggling Carroll can build off his three-hit performance Thursday, which would give Marte more run-producing opportunities. • Records fourth steal
Profar went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar is batting well lately, going 12-for-35 (.343) over his past 10 contests. His steal Thursday was his fourth of the season and his first since May 15. The outfielder is up to a .323/.418/.480 slash line with eight home runs, 38 RBI and 34 runs scored through 263 plate appearances, putting him on pace to shatter his career highs in nearly every category if he can maintain his current levels of production. • Nabs 16th save
Iglesias pitched a perfect inning to earn a save against the Nationals on Thursday.

Advice: Iglesias made quick work of Washington in the ninth inning, needing just nine pitches to set the side down in order. The veteran closer has converted each of his past eight save chances, allowing three runs over 10 frames during that span. Iglesias hasn't been punching out batters at his usual rate this season -- he has just 16 strikeouts through 23.1 innings -- but he nonetheless is tied for fifth in the majors with 16 saves (in 18 chances). • Logs steal in three-hit game
Tatis went 3-for-5 with a double, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis has racked up nine hits over his last three games and is batting .449 (22-for-49) during his 12-game hitting streak. In addition to the hot bat, Tatis took advantage of getting on base Thursday by picking up his first steal since May 7. The outfielder is up to a .283/.356/.450 slash line with seven thefts, 10 home runs, 32 RBI and 41 runs scored through 66 contests this season, and he's been one of baseball's hottest hitters so far in June.
