• Geraldo Perdomo (knee) starting rehab assignment
Geraldo Perdomo (knee) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Friday in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Advice: Perdomo is most likely going to require a couple weeks to get back up to speed before returning to Arizona as he works his way back from early-April surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Nick Senzel (knee) returns to lineup on Thursday
Nick Senzel (knee) is in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Braves.

Advice: Senzel left Wednesday’s contest in the second inning after fouling a ball off his right knee, so it’s an encouraging sign that he’s ready to go without missing any time. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Masataka Yoshida (thumb) starts hitting progression
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) began taking swings off a tee earlier this week.

Advice: Yoshida was able to avoid surgery on his left thumb, but has been completely shut down from hitting for the last few weeks. The 30-year-old is going to need plenty of time to ramp-up his hitting progression, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back for at least a few weeks, if not longer. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
  • IL stint expected to be brief
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday that he's optimistic O'Neill's (knee) stay on the 10-day injured list will be a short one, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill landed on the IL on Wednesday with right knee inflammation, an injury that he had been playing with for a while. While Cora didn't exactly commit to O'Neill requiring just the minimum 10-day absence, it does not appear he will be out long. He's eligible for activation on June 5. Rob Refsnyder appears most likely to soak up the bulk of the playing time at designated hitter while O'Neill is out, although the Red Sox have Connor Wong at DH and Reese McGuire at catcher Thursday versus the Tigers. • Ronald Acuña Jr. to undergo knee surgery Tuesday
Ronald Acuña Jr. will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.

Advice: The procedure will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who performed Acuña’s other ACL surgery on his right knee back in 2021. The 26-year-old fantasy superstar There won’t be an official timetable for his return until he undergoes surgery next week as ElAttrache will determine at that time whether he suffered any additional structural damage to his knee, which would keep him sidelined much longer. If it winds up being a straightforward ACL surgery, there’s enough reason for fantasy managers to optimistically project Acuña to be ready for the outset of the 2025 campaign. • Murphy: Rhys Hoskins might return this weekend
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Thursday that Rhys Hoskins (hamstring) has a chance to return this weekend.

Advice: Hoskins is roughly two weeks removed from a right hamstring strain that he suffered earlier this month and progressed to on-field running this week. There’s optimism he’ll be ready to roll by early next week, but it sounds like there’s a possibility he’s on track for this weekend when the Brewers face the White Sox. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Jose Siri blasts two homers to help Rays edge A’s
Jose Siri went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs on Thursday in the Rays’ victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Siri’s second home run was a game-tying blast off Athletics closer Mason Miller in the bottom of the ninth inning. The two-homer game gives him a total of just five on the season after hitting 25 in 101 games last year. Siri hit just .222 last season and is at .188 this year so he can’t be counted on for batting average. It’s possible that he could supply a decent amount of power over the course of the rest of the season, though. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

  • Langeliers blasts 12th home run Thursday
Shea Langeliers went 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run home run against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Langeliers isn’t going to provide a good average as he’s now hitting .211 on the season, but he has decent power for a catcher. The home run was his 12th of the season and he now has 29 RBI.

  • Paredes blasts 10th home run in win Thursday
Isaac Paredes went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Paredes started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning. The home run was his 10th of the season and he’s now up to 32 RBI. Paredes is now hitting a solid .295 with a .890 OPS on the year.
