• Sitting Saturday
Calhoun is not in Saturday's lineup against the Royals.

Advice: Calhoun was in the lineup against a lefty Wednesday, but he'll take a seat in this one against southpaw Cole Ragans. Look for Calhoun to play regularly as the designated hitter when the Angels face a right-handed pitcher. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
  • Sits against lefty
Moniak is not in Saturday's lineup against the Royals.

Advice: Per usual, Moniak will be on the bench to start the game with the Angels facing a southpaw (Cole Ragans). Kevin Pillar picks up the start in center field, batting cleanup. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
  • Carlos Santana homers, plates three against TOR
Carlos Santana drove in three runs and hit a two-run homer Saturday in a loss to the Blue Jays.

  • Davis Schneider homers, picks up three hits vs. MIN
Davis Schneider went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs scored and two RBI in a win over the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: Schneider once again hit in the leadoff spot, and he looked comfortable doing it. The 25-year-old also stole his second base of the season, while the homer is the fourth of the season. George Springer (illness) did appear late in the game as a pinch-hitter, but considering how good Schneider has been and Springer, well, hasn’t, there’s a chance that Schneider remains at the top of the lineup for the foreseeable future. • Vladdy Jr. has four hits, three RBI, SB vs. Twins
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 4-for-5, drove in three runs and stole a base in a 10-8 win for the Blue Jays on Saturday over the Twins.

Advice: Vladdy Jr. did it all Saturday in the come-from-behind win. The first baseman has swung the bat much more effectively as of late, and his OPS to .751 after hovering around .700 for much of the season. The 25-year-old has his first steal of the season, and it’ll probably be a while before we see the second one. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago
  • Jordan Romano collects sixth save with scoreless 9th
Jordan Romano struck out two without allowing a run to pick up a save Saturday against the Twins.

Advice: Romano did give up a double, but he was able to keep the Twins off the board while picking up his sixth save of 2024. That number is more impressive when you remember Romano missed time with injury to begin the season. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago
  • Simeon Woods Richardson allows five in no-decision
Simeon Woods Richardson was charged for five runs while going 4 1/3 innings and not factoring into the decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Woods Richardson gave up eight hits while only striking out two. The right-hander was staked a 7-1 lead, but like his counterpart Kevin Gausman, he was unable to pitch effectively before exiting early. It’s disappointing considering how well Woods Richardson pitched against Seattle, but inconsistency is likely going to follow the 23-year-old for the foreseeable future. He’ll have a chance to rebound against the Guardians on Friday. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago
  • Kevin Gausman allows 10 hits, six earned vs. Twins
Kevin Gausman allowed seven runs — six earned — over three innings while not factoring into the decision Saturday in a start against the Twins.

Advice: Not ideal. Gausman allowed three runs in the first, another in the second, and three more in the third before leaving the game. The right-hander did strike out six, but hard to be too excited about punchouts when you are this ineffective when the ball is put into play. Gausman sees his ERA jump to 4.95 from this outing from the 3.78 mark he had coming into it. He’ll get a chance to rebound Friday against the Rays. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago
  • Set to start Monday for Detroit
The Tigers are set to promote Manning from Triple-A Toledo to start Monday against the Marlins, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Manning is set to rejoin the big club after Kenta Maeda was placed on the 15-day IL due to a viral illness. Manning started for the Tigers as the 27th man against the Cardinals on April 30, when he gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out seven in a no-decision. The 26-year-old right-hander holds a 0-1 record over three major-league starts with a 4.24 ERA and 1.18 WHIP this season. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago
