  • Ohtani gets Tungsten O’Doyle’d against former team
    Shohei Ohtani homered and reached four times in a 3-2 loss to the Angels on Friday in 10 innings.

    Advice: We’re used to seeing those type of efforts from Ohtani being wasted, but usually it was for the Angels, not against them. The 29-year-old absolutely destroyed a solo blast off Matt Moore in the fifth for his 22nd homer of the year and 55th RBI of the season.     Cal Raleigh went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts against the Marlins on Friday.

    Advice: Raleigh often seems to come up with the big hit, but the little hit has been a problem this year, as he’s batted just .198/.276/.380 in 272 plate appearances.     Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Friday in a loss to the Guardians

    Bryan Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk on Friday against the Rays.

    Advice: The home run was Reynolds’ 11th of the season and landed all the way in the Allegheny River beyond the concourse in right-center field.     The Cardinals optioned Scott to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

    Advice: The 23-year-old was called up to serve as the 27th man for Thursday's game at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama, and he'll head back to Memphis after appearing as a defensive replacement.     Advice: For the second straight game, Winker went yard in the sixth inning, this time taking Ryne Nelson deep. While those are the veteran outfielder's only two long balls in June, he's otherwise putting together an impressive month, slashing .389/.484/.519 through 17 games with nine runs and 10 RBI.
