Guerrero is beginning to flash a little more power -- over his last 11 games, he has three doubles and two of his six homers on the year -- but he's been making plenty of hard contact, slashing .367/.452/.495 since the beginning of May with 16 RBI and 16 runs in 28 contests.     Advice: The home run was Guerrero Jr.'s sixth of the season. He was back at first base after playing third base on Sunday. It would boost his fantasy value to add third base eligibility, but he’ll need a few more appearances at the hot corner for that. Guerrero Jr.'s average is up to .295 with an .808 OPS on the season.     José Alvarado fired a flawless ninth inning on Monday against the Brewers to collect his 10th save of the season.

    Advice: Alvardo got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame after Jeff Hoffman worked a flawless eighth inning and needed just 10 pitches (seven strikes) to notch his first save since May 21. There isn’t a ton of clarity regarding the pecking order for Phillies manager Rob Thomson, but it appears Hoffman and Alvarado will continue splitting save opportunities depending on matchups.     Rockies manager Bud Black said that Bryant isn't in the lineup Monday against the Reds due to a sore back, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Black noted that Bryant is sore after the 32-year-old made a twisting catch in the outfield during Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers. Bryant is consulting with doctors and trainers and is considered day-to-day for now. With Bryant on the bench Monday, Jacob Stallings will step in as the Rockies' designated hitter.     Advice: Oddly enough, he played in all three games against righties in between the southpaws. We’re not sure if this is some kind of reaction to Bryant starting off 2-for-19 against lefties this season or if maybe something physically is bothering Bryant more when swinging against lefties or if Bud Black has seen him play so infrequently, he simply forgot that Bryant bats right-handed.   • Receives injection in elbow
    Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Romano received an anti-inflammatory injection for his right elbow Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

    Advice: Romano will be shut down for 3-to-5 days before planning to resume a throwing program later this week. The reliever received a similar injection for the same injury back in late March and wound up missing about three weeks of action, although it's not clear whether a similar timetable is expected this time around.
