• Launches sixth homer
Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The 25-year-old crushed a Grayson Rodriguez slider in the fourth inning, sending it over the fence in straightaway center field with an exit velocity of 109.2 mph. Guerrero is beginning to flash a little more power -- over his last 11 games, he has three doubles and two of his six homers on the year -- but he's been making plenty of hard contact, slashing .367/.452/.495 since the beginning of May with 16 RBI and 16 runs in 28 contests. • Notches 10th save
Alvarado picked up the save in Monday's 3-1 win over Milwaukee, striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning. He did not allow a baserunner.

Advice: Alvarado picked up his 10th save of the season, his first since May 21. The southpaw blew his first save of the season May 24 in Coors Field, but he has otherwise pitched well since his last save, recording a 1.50 ERA with six strikeouts and two holds over six innings of work. • Vlad Jr. hits sixth home run Monday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Guerrero Jr.'s sixth of the season. He was back at first base after playing third base on Sunday. It would boost his fantasy value to add third base eligibility, but he’ll need a few more appearances at the hot corner for that. Guerrero Jr.'s average is up to .295 with an .808 OPS on the season. • José Alvarado silences Brewers to net 10th save
José Alvarado fired a flawless ninth inning on Monday against the Brewers to collect his 10th save of the season.

Advice: Alvardo got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame after Jeff Hoffman worked a flawless eighth inning and needed just 10 pitches (seven strikes) to notch his first save since May 21. There isn’t a ton of clarity regarding the pecking order for Phillies manager Rob Thomson, but it appears Hoffman and Alvarado will continue splitting save opportunities depending on matchups. • Kris Bryant out due to soreness
Kris Bryant is out of Monday’s lineup because he’s sore after making a catch Sunday.

Advice: So, it’s not some weird anti-lefty thing. Bryant has only been playing the field once per series of late, but even that might be too much at this point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:59 pm

  • Dealing with sore back
Rockies manager Bud Black said that Bryant isn't in the lineup Monday against the Reds due to a sore back, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Black noted that Bryant is sore after the 32-year-old made a twisting catch in the outfield during Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers. Bryant is consulting with doctors and trainers and is considered day-to-day for now. With Bryant on the bench Monday, Jacob Stallings will step in as the Rockies' designated hitter. • Kris Bryant absent from lineup versus lefty
Kris Bryant is on the bench versus a lefty for the second time in the Rockies’ last five games Monday.

Advice: Oddly enough, he played in all three games against righties in between the southpaws. We’re not sure if this is some kind of reaction to Bryant starting off 2-for-19 against lefties this season or if maybe something physically is bothering Bryant more when swinging against lefties or if Bud Black has seen him play so infrequently, he simply forgot that Bryant bats right-handed. Bryant has typically been better versus left-handers than right-handers over the course of his career. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:35 pm

  • Receives injection in elbow
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Romano received an anti-inflammatory injection for his right elbow Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Romano will be shut down for 3-to-5 days before planning to resume a throwing program later this week. The reliever received a similar injection for the same injury back in late March and wound up missing about three weeks of action, although it's not clear whether a similar timetable is expected this time around. Yimi Garcia collected a save for the Blue Jays in Sunday's win over the Pirates and is expected to serve as the team's primary closer while Romano is out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:18 pm

  • Not in Monday's lineup
Bryant is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Bryant is slashing just .231/.348/.308 in 11 games since returning from a back injury, which is actually an improvement over the .149/.273/.255 line he produced before getting hurt. With Bryant sitting for the series opener, Jacob Stallings will start at designated hitter while Elehuris Montero covers first base for the Rockies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:00 pm
