• Homers in return
Westburg went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.

Advice: Westburg was out of the lineup for two games with a hand injury, but it didn't seem to be bothering him in Saturday's win. He's gone 10-for-22 (.455) with two homers and seven RBI over his last six games, posting three multi-hit efforts in that span. The infielder continues to hit well despite often being in the bottom half of the order. He's slashing .295/.354/.523 with nine homers, 36 RBI, 30 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 doubles and three triples over 52 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:16 am
  • Shaky in Saturday's loss
Kikuchi (2-5) took the loss Saturday as the Blue Jays fell 8-1 to the Pirates, coughing up six runs (five earned) on nine hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Pittsburgh jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and while Kikuchi was able to avoid an early exit, he still wound up putting extra pressure on a Toronto bullpen that had already been taxed by a 14-inning game Friday. The southpaw left the mound after 89 pitches (61 strikes), and he's been tagged for 10 earned runs in 8.1 frames over his last two starts -- a far cry from the prior six weeks, during which he delivered six quality starts in eight outings with a 2.61 ERA. Kikuchi will look to rebound when he next takes the mound, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Orioles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:18 am

  • Thairo Estrada held out of lineup with thumb issue
Thairo Estrada was held out of the Giants’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to a sore left thumb.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder suffered the injury when he jammed his thumb on second base while sliding during Friday’s game. He’s considered day-to-day. Brett Wisely will start in his place at second base and bat ninth for the Giants on Saturday evening. Rotoworld Saturday, 5:38 pm

  • Dealing with jammed thumb
Estrada is considered day-to-day after jamming his thumb during Friday's game against the Yankees, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Saturday's absence from the lineup is more than just a day off for the second baseman, who suffered a minor thumb injury in the series opener against New York. Estrada was deemed day-to-day and won't have the benefit of a team-wide rest day until Thursday. If Estrada is forced to miss more time, Brett Wisely would likely fill the gap at second. The 25-year-old infielder has enjoyed a breakout season, hitting .295/.354/.523 with nine homers, 36 RBI, and five steals across 213 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:05 pm
