  • Tommy Edman (wrist) shut down with ankle sprain
    Tommy Edman, who is working his way back from wrist surgery, suffered a sprained ankle while taking grounders on Tuesday.

    Edman (wrist) sprained his ankle while fielding grounders Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

    Advice: It's not viewed as a major setback, but it's not ideal after Edman had finally been making some real progress with his surgically repaired right wrist.   • Makes impact at leadoff
    India batted leadoff and went 2-for-2 with two walks, two doubles, two steals and three runs scored in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Pirates.

    Advice: He was also hit by a pitch. India batted leadoff for a second straight game, filling in at the spot normally handled by TJ Friedl, who was added to the 10-day injured list Monday with a hamstring injury. In two games atop the order, India is 5-for-6 with three walks, four doubles, two steals and six runs scored. The two steals lifted him to eight for the season.     Kwan went 1-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 10-8 win over the Orioles.

    Advice: Kwan has let his bat do the talking since he returned from a hamstring injury, going 33-for-75 (.440) over his last 19 contests. Predictably, he hasn't tried his luck much on the bases, going 1-for-2 in stolen base attempts in that span. He's now at a .385/.443/.563 slash line with seven home runs, 24 RBI, 48 runs scored and four steals over 51 contests, and it's safe to assume his speed will remain down given his history of hamstring issues.     Paredes went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Mariners.

    Advice: Paredes went yard in the eighth inning to tally his 12th homer of the season and only his second since May 31. He's hit only .229 in that span with nine RBI and six runs scored.     Advice: Diaz led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run, continuing his excellent run of recent production.   • Allows four runs in loss
    Castillo (6-9) took the loss against the Rays on Tuesday, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

    Advice: Castillo surrendered a leadoff home run to Yandy Diaz in the first inning and an RBI single to Jose Siri in the second. He responded with three scoreless frames but was pulled after walking two batters in the sixth. Both baserunners scored, resulting in the third time Castillo has yielded at least four earned runs in June.     Freddie Freeman went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.



    Advice: Freeman’s two-run blast in the third tied the game at 3-3 after Bobby Miller put the Dodgers in a deficit early.     Jonathan India went 2-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, and two steals in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

    Advice: India is enjoying a tremendous month of June, going 26-for-72 (.361) with two home runs, 15 runs scored, and three steals. India has also been leading off since TJ Friedl went on the IL, which is more good news for his fantasy value.
