• Kenley Jansen nails down 17th save
Kenley Jansen kept the Yankees off the board in the 10th inning to secure the save on Friday night.

Advice: Jansen was tasked with facing Juan Soto and Aaron Judge up two runs in the 10th inning and didn’t allow anyone to score. He slammed the door in what was a dramatic win for his Red Sox. Jansen hasn’t allowed an earned run since June 12th and hasn’t blown a save since April 16th. Take that, father time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:07 pm
  • Clay Holmes blows save against Red Sox
Clay Holmes allowed two home runs on two hits in a blown save on Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Holmes pushed the Red Sox to their final strike before Masataka Yoshida sent a sinker deep into the right field seats. The home run was just the second Holmes has allowed this season, matching his total from last season. It was also his fifth blown save in what’s been an up-and-down season so far. • Snags eighth save
Beeks earned the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Royals, pitching an inning with one strikeout and allowing two hits.

Advice: The southpaw reliever entered in the ninth and looked to be in danger after he allowed two straight singles to lead off the frame. However, Beeks recovered by retiring the next three batters to work out of the jam, securing his 13th career save. The 30-year-old has collected the last two Colorado saves and produced four straight outings without allowing an earned run over 5.1 innings. He now sports a 4.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 34:17 K:BB across 44 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:02 pm

  • Escapes with save
Doval allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning Friday, striking out one and earning a save over Cleveland.

Advice: Doval put the first two batters of the inning on base but escaped the jam to close out the 4-2 win. It was his third straight save conversion, and he's now 17 for 20 in opportunities this season. Doval has not looked like his usual self, however, as his current ERA and WHIP of 4.04 and 1.54, respectively, are both career highs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:58 pm
  • Tosses three innings
Bivens allowed a run on four hits and a walk over three frames in a no-decision Friday. He struck out two during the win over Cleveland.

Advice: Bivens entered the game in the second inning and was tagged with a solo homer by Josh Naylor in the fourth. Over his last five outings, Bivens has given up two runs in 12 innings, dropping his season ERA to 2.65 through 17 frames. He should continue working as a bulk reliever or spot starter as necessary. • Ryan Helsley blows save in 10th, grabs win in 11th
Ryan Helsey blew the save Friday against the Nationals despite not allowing an earned run. He also gave up two hits, an intentional walk, and didn’t strike a batter out across two innings.

Advice: A shortcoming of the Ghost Runner rule: Helsley entered a one-run game in the 10th inning, allowed the automatic runner to score from second base, and got tagged with a blown save. He did well to get out of a jam with runners on second and third with one out when Juan Yepez lined into an inning ending double play. He hung on for a 1-2-3 inning in the 11th inning and still managed to snag the win. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
  • Kyle Finnegan blows save against Cardinals
Kyle Finnegan allowed one earned run on two hits in the ninth inning on Friday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Willson Contreras took Finnegan deep to tie this game in the ninth inning. He’s been remarkably consistent throughout the season, but the Nationals haven’t provided him with many save opportunities lately and he’s now blown two of his last four dating back to June 22nd. • Becoming free agent
Festa elected free agency Friday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Festa was designated for assignment by the Mets on Wednesday and will try his luck on the open market. The 31-year-old pitched only one inning with New York and allowed four runs. However, he has a solid track record in the majors and should garner some interest in free agency. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:47 pm

  • Likely to work in bulk relief
Bivens is expected to serve as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Erik Miller in Friday's game against the Guardians, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Bivens tossed five innings of one-run ball in his first MLB start in his most recent appearance this past Sunday against the Dodgers, but he'll be available out of the bullpen for what's essentially his second turn through the rotation. The right-hander will most likely shift into a more traditional bullpen role after Friday, as the Giants should get one or both of Kyle Harrison (ankle) or Blake Snell (groin) back from the injured list by next week.
