• Collects first save
Thompson picked up the save in Tuesday's 5-2 triumph over San Francisco. He pitched a scoreless inning with three strikeouts.

Advice: The Cubs right-hander wasted no time in gathering his fourth career save, requiring 15 pitches to fan three Giants hitters in the ninth inning. Thompson has a 4.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 14.2 innings this season. Although he earned the save this evening, don't expect saves chances to continue coming his way, as the back of the Chicago bullpen -- Hector Neris, Mark Leiter and Hayden Wesneski -- all pitched in Monday's loss. • Fans eight in no-decision
Steele did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The Chicago southpaw posted his third straight quality start as he generated 14 whiffs en route to eight punchouts, tying his season-high set May 27 against Milwaukee. The Giants managed to collect both runs against Steele on a fifth inning double yielded to Curt Casali. Although Steele is still searching for his first win, he's been a dependable arm with a 3.16 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 56:15 K:BB over 57 innings this season. He's scheduled make his next start against the Giants again, but in San Francisco. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

  • Quality start in no-decision
Webb did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Cubs, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Webb collected his third consecutive quality start, twelfth total of the season, with a solid 101-pitch outing. The San Francisco ace's only blemish of the game came in the second inning when he allowed a 401-foot two-run homer to Dansby Swanson. With this outing, Webb pushed his ERA down to 2.99 over 99.1 innings this year. He looks to eclipse the 100 inning threshold for the fourth consecutive season in his next start, currently slated to be against the Cardinals on the road. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

  • Jonathan Cannon barely misses shutout in first win
Jonathan Cannon shut out the Astros for 8 2/3 innings, striking out four, in a 2-0 win for the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: That’ll do. It’s the first major league victory for Cannon, who came in with a 4.56 ERA in four starts and one relief appearance. Facing a lineup missing Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker, Cannon gave up seven hits tonight, but just one went for extra bases. He walked only one before coming out with two on in a 2-0 game in the ninth. There doesn’t seem like a ton of upside here, but between the sinker, sweeper and cutter, Cannon has the potential to last as a major league starter. He’s still a weak bet for fantasy purposes while pitching for one of the league’s worst teams. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • John Brebbia notches one-out save
John Brebbia got one out in the ninth for his second save Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: Jonathan Cannon nearly had the shutout, but after two reached with two outs in a 2-0 game in the ninth, the White Sox had to go to the pen. Brebbia was the choice, which was kind of surprising since Michael Kopech hadn’t worked in five days. He got Victor Caratini to ground out and lowered his ERA to 5.81. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Framber Valdez surrenders two runs in loss
Framber Valdez pitched six innings of two-run ball Tuesday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Valdez allowed just two hits, but he walked five batters, which fueled the rallies in the third and fifth innings. Valdez worked out of big jams to limit the White Sox to single runs both innings, but the Astros offense did nothing to back him tonight. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Jake Meyers goes 0-for-3 in loss to White Sox
Jake Meyers went 0-for-3 in the loss to the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: It’s a fourth straight hitless game for Meyers, who is in a 10-for-65 slump that has dropped his OPS from .898 to .713. The good news for Meyers is that with José Abreu gone and Chas McCormick still in the doghouse, there isn’t much of a playing time crunch in Houston right now. That’ll change if McCormick picks it up or maybe if Joey Loperfido is given a chance later this month. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Imaging comes back negative
Judge said Tuesday that X-rays and CT scans on his left hand came back negative, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Judge had to leave Tuesday's game against Baltimore after taking a fastball off his hand, but he now appears to have avoided a significant injury. The 32-year-old slugger also said he aims to return without missing any games, though he is dealing with a bit of swelling which could sideline him for a day or two, per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. • X-rays, CT scan negative on Aaron Judge’s hand
Aaron Judge told reporters late Tuesday that X-rays and a CT scan on his left hand came back negative for any structural damage.

Advice: Excellent news. It’s an extremely positive update from Judge, who added that it’s possible he won’t wind up missing any time at all. The 32-year-old superstar was sent for additional imaging and further evaluation at a local hospital after being hit on the left hand by a 95-mph fastball during Tuesday’s game against the Orioles, but it sounds like he’s managed to avoid serious injury. It’s a massive relief for the Yankees, and fantasy managers as well. He’s day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago
