• Taking seat Monday
Sanchez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Sanchez had started at designated hitter or catcher in four of the Brewers' previous five games, but he'll hit the bench for the series opener in Philadelphia. The 31-year-old should still have a fairly clear path to a regular spot in the lineup versus left-handed pitching, but opportunities to start against righties could be harder to come by following Rhys Hoskins' recent return from the injured list. • Eyeing return next week
Manager Carlos Mendoza said Monday that Alvarez (thumb) won't join the Mets for their two-game series in London with the Phillies this weekend, but the catcher could be ready to return from the 10-day injured list June 11 for the start of the club's homestand, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 20 with a fractured left thumb that eventually required surgery, Alvarez is closing in on a return after he initiated a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton this past weekend. He made three starts at catcher with Binghamton and went 2-for-8 with a home run and two walks, but the Mets want him to pick up more reps in the minors before he comes off the IL. Alvarez is likely to either stick around at Binghamton or shift his assignment to Triple-A Syracuse in the coming days, and if he escapes without any setbacks, he should settle back in as the Mets' primary backstop beginning next week. • Francisco Alvarez (thumb) won’t return this week
The Mets have decided against activating Francisco Alvarez in time for this weekend’s series in London.

Advice: Alvarez has thus far played in three rehab games as he returns from a torn thumb ligament, going 2-for-8 with a homer. The Mets believe it makes more sense for him to stay in the U.S. and continue his rehab than to go to London for two games in five days. If all goes well, Alvarez could be activated next Tuesday. • Sitting out Monday
Nido is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Nido will take a seat for the second day in a row while the Mets give Luis Torrens another turn behind the plate. Since Francisco Alvarez (thumb) landed on the injured list April 20, Nido has taken over as the Mets' primary backstop, but he hasn't offered much to get excited about for fantasy purposes. Through 31 games this season, Nido is hitting .225 with three home runs, zero stolen bases, nine runs and eight RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:21 pm
  • Braves option Chadwick Tromp to Triple-A
Braves optioned C Chadwick Tromp to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: With Travis d’Arnaud and Sean Murphy both healthy, there’s simply no room for Tromp on the big league roster at the moment. Tromp has hit .250/.259/.365 with zero homers and six RBI in 54 plate appearances with the Braves this season. He’ll continue to bide his time at the Triple-A level until he’s needed once more. • Consecutive starts behind plate
Caratini went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: Caratini drew consecutive starts behind the plate for the first time this season and has now started three of Houston's last four games. He has only two hits in that span, though both have left the yard. It's unlikely that Caratini's playing time outlook will change in the long term, though Yainer Diaz hit just .200/.213/.259 across 88 plate appearances in May. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:06 pm

  • Logs three hits in loss
Rutschman went 3-for-5 with one RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Rays.

Advice: Rutschman had a brief cold spell a couple of weeks ago, but he's bounced back well. He's hit safely in six straight games, going 9-for-25 (.360) in that span. The catcher is slashing .304/.342/.473 with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 30 runs scored and one stolen base over 54 contests this season. He was given more regular rest in late May, which may help him stay fresher as the Orioles enter a busy stretch of their schedule. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:51 pm

  • Doubles, drives in one Sunday
Kelly went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's 8-4, 10-inning win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Despite batting ninth, Kelly was able to deliver a solid performance as he extended his hitting streak to seven games. The 29-year-old is splitting time with Jake Rogers behind the plate, with the latter likely to draw the start Monday after Kelly caught all 10 innings Sunday. Both players' fantasy values are capped somewhat by the timeshare, though they can still be useful in deeper formats. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:31 pm
  • Henry Davis set to rejoin Pirates on Tuesday
Corey Crisan of DK Pittsburgh Sports reports that the Pirates plan to recall Henry Davis from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Advice: Since being optioned out to Triple-A Indianapolis on May 3, Davis has hit .296 with seven homers and 17 RBI. The Pirates believe that he can breathe some life into a struggling offense, though it’s unclear how much action he’ll see behind the plate versus in the outfield. Fantasy managers in two-catcher formats should check to see if Davis is languishing on the waiver wire. Rotoworld Sunday, 6:38 pm
