• Ryne Nelson won’t start Wednesday for D-backs
The Diamondbacks will likely bypass Ryne Nelson and go with an opener in Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Nelson was lit up for seven runs by the Tigers last time out, putting his spot in jeopardy, but when everything was quiet over the last few days, it seemed likely that he’d remain in the rotation. Instead, the Diamondbacks could either send him down or put him in the bullpen prior to Wednesday’s game. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
  • Breaks home run drought
McGuire went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: McGuire went yard in the ninth inning off of Erasmo Ramirez, marking the catchers' third homer of the season and his first since April 7. McGuire has been operating as the backup to Connor Wong in May, and he hasn't shown enough at the plate to warrant more playing time since, batting .214 with Tuesday's long ball being his only extra-base hit during the month. • Aaron Brooks delivers quality start versus Rockies
Aaron Brooks gave the A’s another quality start by allowing three runs in six innings Tuesday at home against the Rockies.

Advice: This is definitely pushing the boundaries of the quality start; not only did he do the bare minimum in allowing three runs in six innings, but he was doing so against the road-team version of the Rockies in a strong pitcher’s park in Oakland. Still, he gave the A’s a chance to win, and they did so by scoring three runs off the Rockies pen. Brooks should remain in the rotation and face the Astros next. Rotoworld Today, 9:43 pm

  • Pops fourth homer
Renfroe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 10-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Renfroe has gone 6-for-24 (.250) with five RBI over his last seven contests. While that's still modest hitting, it's a vast improvement on his .160 batting average for the season. Despite the middling results at the plate, Renfroe has started six of the last eight games in right field and appears to have fended off challenges for playing time from Dairon Blanco and Adam Frazier that popped up earlier in May. Renfroe has four homers, 18 RBI, 15 runs scored, four doubles, no stolen bases and a .518 OPS over 144 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 8:24 pm

  • Drives in two
Mendick went 2-for-4 with a single and a two-RBI double during Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Mendick entered Tuesday's contest 1-for-14 (.071) in four games since coming off the IL. The 30-year-old delivered a two-RBI double in the eighth inning off Tim Mayza to provide the White Sox with some insurance runs. Mendick has been serving as the White Sox's everyday third baseman with Bryan Ramos (quad) sidelined. Rotowire.com Today, 8:22 pm

  • Optioned to Triple-A
The Yankees optioned Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Advice: Andrews was selected from Triple-A earlier Tuesday, and he will now head back to the minors immediately following New York's loss to the Mariners -- though now he has a spot on the 40-man roster. The left-hander only pitched one-third of an inning against Seattle, allowing a solo home run to Luke Raley in the process. Although Andrews has been serviceable in the minors since being DFA'd in mid-April, his career 27.00 ERA through 3.2 big-league innings may cause the Yankees to look elsewhere if they need to rely on their organizational bullpen depth later in the year. • Earns first MLB win
Little (1-0) tossed a scoreless 10th inning out of the bullpen to pick up the win in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over Atlanta.

Advice: Little was the sixth Chicago pitcher to enter the contest, and the lefty was effective despite starting his frame with a runner on second. This was the 23-year-old's first win in the majors in his 21st career appearance. Little is still a fairly low-leverage reliever at this point, which leaves him with limited fantasy appeal. • Martín Pérez struggles with command vs SF
Martín Pérez allowed four runs (two runs) on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Pérez struck out four but walked three on the day. He started just 10 of the 22 batters he faced with a first-pitch strike and had a zone rate of 36 percent overall which is not good. It led to a 19 percent CSW on the day, and he’s lucky the final line wasn’t much worse. He’ll take a 4.80 ERA into a weekend showdown against the Braves and should not be started in fantasy leagues. • Promotion imminent
Nastrini will be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to start Wednesday's game against Toronto, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Nastrini struggled mightily during his first two career MLB starts, allowing seven earned runs across eight total innings while striking out eight batters and walking seven. Since being optioned to Charlotte in late April, he's posted a 5.24 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through 22.1 frames. Despite his lackluster performance, he'll be called upon to fill the open spot in Chicago's rotation and start Wednesday, pushing Mike Clevinger's next start to Thursday. Rotowire.com Today, 7:13 pm
