• Sent back to minors
The Twins optioned Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Funderburk went two innings in Tuesday's win over the White Sox, allowing a pair of runs. The Twins are replacing him with a fresh arm in Caleb Boushley. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
  • Gets three-game ban, will appeal
Siri (thigh) received a three-game suspension Wednesday for his role in a benches-clearing brawl Tuesday in the Rays' 8-2 loss to the Brewers, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports. He will appeal the suspension and is available off the bench for Wednesday's series finale in Milwaukee.

Advice: In addition to Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy receiving a two-game ban, three players [Siri and Brewers right-handers Abner Uribe (six games) and Freddy Peralta (five games)] were suspended for their roles in Tuesday's brawl. Uribe's punishment is the most severe since he's considered to have incited the incident in the eighth inning, when he threw a punch at Siri after the two players first started arguing when Siri was running to first base on a groundout. In his prior plate appearance in the sixth inning, Siri was hit by a pitch in the left thigh, and he'll be held out of the lineup Wednesday after Rays manager Kevin Cash said the outfielder was still dealing with some soreness. After a team off day Thursday, Siri should be ready to go for this weekend's series with the Mets, if he hasn't dropped his appeal by then or if the appeal process hasn't been completed. • Gets five-game ban, will appeal
Peralta was suspended five games by Major League Baseball on Wednesday for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in Tuesday's 8-2 win, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He'll appeal the suspension.

Advice: The right-handed was ejected from Tuesday's contest after the umpiring crew concluded that Peralta threw at Siri intentionally one plate appearance after Siri had hit a home run. Since Peralta is appealing the suspension, he should be able to make his next scheduled start on Sunday against the Cubs, if the appeal process isn't completed before then. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago
  • Appealing six-game suspension
Uribe received a six-game suspension Wednesday for his role in a benches-clearing brawl Tuesday in the Brewers' 8-2 win over the Rays, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. He has appealed the suspension and will be available for Wednesday's series finale versus Tampa Bay.

Advice: In addition to Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy receiving a two-game ban, three players [Uribe, Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta (five games) and Rays outfielder Jose Siri (three games)] were suspended for their roles in Tuesday's brawl. Uribe's punishment is the most severe since he's considered to have incited the incident in the eighth inning, when he threw a punch at Siri after Siri grounded out. Uribe was ejected from the game, but he'll appeal the six-game suspension with the hope of getting the banishment reduced. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
  • Marlins option Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A
Marlins optioned RHP Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Ramirez heads back to the minors after providing the Marlins some additional relief over the past few days. The 29-year-old appeared in three games for Miami and allowed just one hit and struck out three in 3 1/3 innings of work. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
  • Twins option Kody Funderburk to Triple-A
Twins optioned LHP Kody Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Funderbunk will head down to the minors in what seems to be somewhat of a surprising move given his results in the big leagues. In his 11 appearances with the Twins this season, the 27-year-old southpaw has posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.28 WHIP with a 15/5 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. Chances are, he’ll get more opportunities in the majors with a Minnesota bullpen that has the 5th-best ERA (2.67) in MLB. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
  • Moves to bench Wednesday
Rooker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Rooker will get a day off after he started in each of the Athletics' last 11 games since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list April 19. With Rooker getting a breather Wednesday, Shea Langeliers will get a day off behind the plate and will serve as Oakland's designated hitter. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

  • Getting regular run at shortstop
Hernaiz will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Hernaiz will draw his seventh straight start Wednesday, with three of his last four starts having come at shortstop. He appears to have moved ahead of Nick Allen on the depth chart at shortstop while recording five hits in 17 at-bats to go with four walks since he was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas last Thursday. • Sitting in second straight
Schuemann is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: After making five consecutive starts at the keystone and going 2-for-13, Schuemann now finds himself on the bench for the second game in a row, both of which have come against right-handed starting pitchers. He looks as though he'll play second fiddle to Abraham Toro at second base while Zack Gelof (oblique) is on the injured list. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago
