• Officially lands on IL
The Rangers placed Langford (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Just as manager Bruce Bochy said would be the case following Sunday's 3-2 win over the Royals, Langford was deactivated due to a right hamstring strain that's expected to sideline the rookie for around 3-to-4 weeks. Texas called up infielder Jonathan Ornelas from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • Scratched from lineup
Rengifo was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game in Pittsburgh, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: He had been set to return following a two-game absence due to illness. Fletcher relays that Rengifo is no longer ill, but it's not clear yet why he was removed from the lineup. Brandon Drury was added to the lineup as Rengifo's replacement at second base. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

  • Added to Monday's lineup
Drury will start at second base and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Pirates, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury was initially slated to receive the day off, but he'll end up handling his usual role as the starting second baseman after Luis Rengifo (illness) was scratched. The 31-year-old Drury heads into Monday's contest in a 2-for-31 funk at the plate over his last 10 games. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

  • Matt Vierling hitting third for Tigers on Monday
Matt Vierling is starting at 3B and hitting third for the Tigers on Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: Vierling has bounced around the lineup over the last week but never hitting below fifth in the order. With Wenceel Perez still out with an illness, Vierling will get a chance to hit third against right-hander Triston McKenzie. Vierling is off to a strong start this year, slashing .287/.313/.457 with three home runs, 14 runs, and 11 RBI in 99 plate appearances. He’s chasing less out of the strike zone but being more aggressive in the strike zone which has led to increased contact rates. He’s also pulling and lifting the ball more, which has helped him register an 8.2 percent barrel rate. We might not be seeing a full-on breakout, but his success has not been flukey. • Bryan Woo could be activated this weekend
The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude suggests that Bryan Woo (elbow) could be activated form the IL this weekend to face the Athletics.

Advice: Woo was impressive in his last start at Triple-A, throwing 66 pitches while averaging 95.7 mph on his fastball. He now has a 17-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 11 1/3 scoreless innings across his three rehab appearances with Tacoma, while allowing just five hits. However, Jude notes that “the team wants to see how Woo feels over the next couple of days before finalizing plans to activate him.” With Emerson Hancock set to make his start against the Twins on Tuesday, his turn in the rotation would come up again this weekend against Oakland, and Woo could be activated to take his place. He certainly looks ready and Jude confirms that, “The club does not plan to go with a six-man rotation and would prefer to keep Hancock stretched out in Triple-A, as opposed to keep him in the majors to pitch out of the bullpen.” Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Leading off in second straight game
Florial will start in left field and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: After going 1-for-4 with a stolen base while serving as the Guardians' leadoff man and designated hitter in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Angels, Florial will get another turn atop the order Monday. He'll also be drawing the start in left field in place of Steven Kwan, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a hamstring strain that will likely keep him sidelined for four weeks. Even before Kwan's injury, the lefty-hitting Florial had already been moving into a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching, but Kwan's absence should give Florial a clearer path to occupying a prominent spot in the lineup. • Jose Siri is not starting with Josh Lowe back
Jose Siri is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the White Sox.

Advice: Josh Lowe is starting in center field in his first game off the IL, but Jonny DeLuca will shift to center field and bat 9th. Both DeLuca and Siri are right-handed hitters and are facing a right-handed pitcher, so this seems like a sign that DeLuca could get a real shot to take the Rays’ center field job. Siri’s playing time had always been linked to his strong defense; however, DeLuca is also a strong defensive outfielder and might have more offensive upside. The Rays certainly like him since they made him part of the return from the Dodgers in the Tyler Glasnow trade this offseason. Now might be the time to stash DeLuca in deeper formats in case he wins this job. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

  • Absent from lineup
Drury is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Drury played the last two games after missing the two contests before that with a migraine. He's also missed time recently with a hamstring issue and has managed just two hits in his last 31 at-bats. Luis Rengifo will replace Drury at second base Monday. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Josh Lowe hitting third in return to lineup
Josh Lowe is starting in right field and batting third for the Rays against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: The Rays are wasting no time throwing Lowe right back into the heart of the order and against right-handed Mike Clevinger, that shouldn’t be a huge surprise. However, the Rays are also set to face just one left-handed pitcher in their next 10 games, so it should be a bit of a softer landing spot for Lowe, who has been on the bench at times against lefties in the past.
