    Christian Walker went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a walk to power the Diamondbacks to a 10-5 win over the Mets on Saturday.

    Advice: With the bases loaded in the third inning, Walker took Sean Manaea deep for a grand slam to drive in the first runs of the game.   • Sale allows eight runs in no-decision
    Chris Sale allowed eight runs in four innings and got a no-decision against the Athletics on Saturday.

    Advice: Sale allowed nine hits, walked one and struck out four. He was due for a bad start after a dominant stretch where he won his last seven consecutive starts. He had his worst outing of the year against the Athletics. It’s the only time Sale was unable to complete five innings in 11 tries this year. His ERA increased from 2.11 to 3.06.   • Jordan Westburg homers in return to lineup
    Jordan Westburg went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI against the Rays on Saturday.

    Advice: Westburg returned to the lineup after missing two games with a hand injury and looked just fine at the plate. He took Taj Bradley deep for a solo homer to lead off the second inning. He drove in a second run with a single in the third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jorge Mateo.   • Kyle Bradish surrenders five runs in no-decision
    Kyle Bradish allowed five runs with six strikeouts over 2 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

    Advice: Bradish was able to work around a pair of hits in the first inning, but allowed three runs in to score in the second on three singles and a triple. Things fell apart for Bradish in the third. A wild pitch put a runner on before he walked three straight batters to bring a run in. He was replaced with two outs in the inning at 76 pitches. He struck out six. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 3.18 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and a 40/14 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings into a start against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Thursday.   • MRI shows no structural damage
    Romano (elbow) had an MRI on his right elbow Friday night, which didn't reveal any structural damage, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

    Advice: Romano was placed on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his throwing elbow, but he appears to have avoided a significant injury. The 31-year-old will be shut down from throwing for a few days before Toronto will determine what direction the team will go from there.     Advice: Singer was scratched from his last scheduled start Thursday versus the Twins due to an illness, but he now appears to be on track to return to the mound relatively soon. The right-hander is in the midst of a career year with Kansas City, producing a 2.63 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 64 strikeouts over 61.2 innings in his first 11 starts of 2024.     Romano was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to May 30, with right elbow inflammation, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

    Advice: Romano was unavailable for Friday's 5-3 victory over the Pirates due to right elbow soreness and he'll now be forced to miss a couple weeks of action while nursing the injury. The 31-year-old produced a 9.00 ERA and 1.88 WHIP over eight innings, while suffering a blown save and being tagged with a pair of losses in nine appearances with Toronto in May, so the time off could serve as a reset button for him. In the meantime, left-hander Brendon Little was called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday to replace him on the major-league roster.
