• McArthur picks up 13th save against Marlins
James McArthur tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: The save was McArthur’s 13th of the season. He’s been a little shaky this season with a 4.70 ERA, but the Royals don’t necessarily have a better option to turn to for saves. It was just McArthur’s second save in the month of June, but it looks like the Royals will continue to lean on him when the opportunity arises. Rotoworld Today, 7:45 pm
  • Pete Fairbanks silences M’s to net 12th save
Pete Fairbanks struck out two in a perfect ninth inning on Monday against the Mariners to record his 12th save of the season.

Advice: Fairbanks got the call to protect a one-run lead in the final frame after Tampa Bay erased a one-run deficit in the eighth inning and needed just 10 pitches (nine strikes) to slam the door. It was his second straight perfect outing after an ugly blown save last week against the Twins. He’s converted 12 of his 14 save chances this season to accompany a 3.25 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 30/12 K/BB ratio across 27 2/3 innings (28 appearances). Rotoworld Today, 7:41 pm
  • Ragans records 11 strikeouts on way to fifth win
Cole Ragans allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Royals’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Ragans gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 11. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 22nd against the Tigers. Ragans is third in all of baseball with 120 strikeouts on the season trailing only Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

  • Notches second save
Barlow struck out the side in the ninth inning of Monday's win against Baltimore, logging his second save of the season.

Advice: With closer Emmanuel Clase pitching the previous two days for Cleveland, Barlow was called upon in the ninth to preserve a one-run lead. The 31-year-old made the most of his opportunity, but he will see few save chances while Emmanuel Clase his healthy. Barlow owns a 3.66 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP and a 44:17 K:BB over 32 innings this season, adding 16 holds and two saves. Rotowire.com Today, 7:27 pm
  • Carson Spiers spins six frames to beat Pirates
Carson Spiers surrendered three runs over six innings on Monday in a win over the Pirates.

Advice: Spiers appears to be settling in at the highest level as he turned in his third consecutive strong outing in a rematch against the Pirates after a six-inning effort last week in Pittsburgh. He struck out five and only handed out one free pass. We’re not ready to proclaim that he’s a viable mixed-league option at this point, but the results have been there recently as Spiers holds a serviceable 3.45 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 25/6 K/BB ratio across 31 1/3 innings (seven appearances, two starts). There might be some streaming appeal moving forward, but probably not on Saturday against the Cardinals in a challenging road matchup. Rotoworld Today, 7:17 pm

  • Helsley picks up 27th save against Braves Monday
Ryan Helsley allowed two runs and picked up the save against the Braves on Monday.

Advice: It was an eventful ninth inning in St. Louis. Helsley entered with a 4-1 lead and proceeded to load the bases on two walks and a hit. With one out, Ramon Laureano singled to make it a 4-2 game and Travis d’Arnaud hit a sacrifice fly to bring the Braves within a run. Helsley then struck out Zack Short on a slider to end the ballgame. His ERA is up to 2.83 now, but fantasy managers can’t complain with 27 saves already in the bank. Rotoworld Today, 7:17 pm

  • Secures third win
Jansen (3-1) allowed a hit in a scoreless inning Monday. He struck out one and earned a win over Toronto.

Advice: Jansen worked a quick ninth inning, needing only 10 pitches to keep the game tied 6-6. Boston won the game in the bottom of the frame and gave him his second win of the month. Jansen is 2-0 with eight saves and a 0.77 ERA over his last 11 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:02 pm

  • Struck by line drive
Santana left Monday's game against the Reds after being hit by a line drive and has been diagnosed with a right arm contusion.

Advice: Santana was unable to continue after being struck on his pitching arm, but he appears to have avoided a significant injury. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward. Rotowire.com Today, 6:51 pm

  • Dennis Santana day-to-day with arm contusion
Dennis Santana left Monday’s game with a right arm contusion after being hit by a comebacker.

Advice: Santana is day-to-day. He retired two of three batters before exiting tonight. Rotoworld Today, 6:48 pm
