      Neris earned a save against the Reds on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over one inning.

      Advice: Neris gave up a one-out single in the ninth inning but was able to wrap up his seventh save. The right-hander had allowed a run in each of his previous two outings, so this was a promising frame for him. The save was his first since May 4.       Hector Neris tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Saturday.

      Advice: The save was Neris’ seventh of the season. No one is going to confuse Neris with a shutdown closer. Even with the two strikeouts and no walks on Saturday, he has a SO:BB of 18:15 in 21 innings this season. Neris’ ERA is 3.00 but his xFIP is 5.10.     • Garrett Crochet strikes out eight in no-decision
      Garrett Crochet held the Brewers to one run over six innings while striking out eight Saturday in a no-decision for the White Sox.

      Advice: Crochet scattered five hits with one walk. The left-hander continues to impress even while playing for arguably the worst team in baseball, and he’s struck out 19 over his last two outings while allowing just three runs over 12 innings. Any question that Crochet has the stuff to succeed as a starter was pretty silly, but it should have been answered now. The questions of whether he can handle the modern rigors remain in doubt, but right now, Crochet is an excellent fantasy option even if the wins won’t come.       Crochet didn't factor into the decision in an extra-inning loss to the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Crochet's now logged quality starts in five of his last six outings, posting a stellar 1.03 ERA in that span (35 innings). The 24-year-old left-hander continues to provide a bright spot on a rebuilding White Sox team -- Crochet's ERA is down to 3.49 on the year with a 0.93 WHIP and 93 strikeouts, good for second most in the league.       Brought in with the Cubs down one in the top of the ninth, Héctor Neris gave up a run and two hits Friday against the Reds.

      Advice: It’s the second straight outing in which Neris has allowed a run, and it proved to be a pretty big run after the Cubs scored once in the bottom of the ninth. Neris’s peripherals are still awful — he has a 16/15 K/BB in 20 innings — but so far, his only two blown saves haven’t cost the Cubs (the team won both games).       Neris (5-0) picked up the win after blowing the save Tuesday, allowing one run on one hit and a walk across one inning. He didn't generate a strikeout.

      Advice: Neris entered the game in the ninth with a 1-0 advantage and got Brice Turang and William Contreras to ground out to start the inning. However, Neris walked Christian Yelich and moved Yelich to second on a balk, setting up a game-tying RBI base hit for Willy Adames. Despite failing to come away with the save, Neris ended up with the victory after Chicago put up five runs in the 10th inning.     • Neris blows save, Cubs down Brewers in extras
      Hector Neris blew his second save of the season in the Cubs’ win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

      Advice: Neris entered the game with a 1-0 lead and recorded two outs to open the bottom of the ninth. He then ran into trouble when he walked Christian Yelich, only to later balk and move Yelich into scoring position. Willy Adames would later single with two strikes to drive in Yelich and for the game into extras.       Foley was charged with the blown save Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing three earned runs on two hits and one walk in 0.2 innings of work.

      Advice: The right-hander was called upon with one out in the eighth inning and two runners on base. He allowed a single and a walk before Daulton Varsho took him deep to give the Blue Jays a two run lead. Despite the rocky appearance, Foley should remain the Tigers' closer for the time being.       Crochet (5-5) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out 11 over six innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Orioles.

      Advice: Crochet was able to extend his scoreless streak to 24 innings, which began with his last two frames versus the Cardinals on May 5. It came to a close when Adley Rutschman took him deep in the sixth inning of Sunday's contest, and that was enough to snap Crochet's four-start winning streak as well. On the bright side, he earned a fifth straight quality start and reached double-digit strikeouts for the third time this year.
