    • Stratton gets save Monday
Chris Stratton picked up a four-out save against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: The save was Stratton’s third of the season. He isn’t a threat to James McArthur, the Royals’ regular closer. Stratton just happened to enter the game with an 8-3 lead and the bases loaded in the eighth inning. Technically it was a save opportunity because the tying run was in the on-deck circle. Don’t expect Stratton to be an option for many more saves over the course of the rest of the season. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago
    • Settles for no-decision
Stroman yielded a run on three hits and a walk over 7.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Seattle.

Advice: Stroman cruised through seven shutout frames before coughing up a solo homer to Dominic Canzone in the eighth inning. Stroman was in line for his fourth win before the Yankees blew the lead in the ninth. He's produced a 2.22 ERA over his last four starts, dropping his season ERA to 3.05 through 56 innings. He's turned in two straight quality starts after failing to finish at least six frames in his previous six appearances. Stroman is in line to start in San Diego this weekend. • Goes deep in loss
Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Carpenter continued a strong month of May, as he's batting .325 this month with three home runs, nine runs scored and 10 RBI across 14 games. He's now up to six long balls overall to go along with a solid .893 OPS. Carpenter still sits regularly against southpaws, but he's producing enough against righties to be an effective fantasy contributor. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
    • Carpenter leaves the yard Monday
Kerry Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, a sacrifice, two runs scored and two RBI against the Royals on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Carpenter’s sixth of the season. He’s hitting .285 with an .893 OPS with the majority of his at-bats coming against right-handed pitching. It can certainly be frustrating for fantasy managers when Carpenter is on the bench against left-handed starts or gets pinch-hit for late in games. He was 16-for-68 (.235) against left-handed pitchers in 2023, though, so it’s hard to argue the logic even on nights when it’s readily apparent that Carpenter is the Tigers’ best offensive weapon.

    • Perez blasts ninth home run Monday
Salvador Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Perez’ ninth of the season. It came in the sixth inning off Tigers reliever Joey Wentz. Perez is now 16-for-41 (.390) against left-handed pitchers this season. He’s hitting an incredible .341 overall. The 34-year-old is a career .269 hitter and has never even hit .300 in a single-season where he’s played at least 100 games.

    • Massey has three-hit game Monday
Michael Massey went 3-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and two runs scored against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Massey started the scoring with a home run in the bottom of the second and later doubled, but his most impactful hit of the night was likely his 101 mph line drive single that hit Tigers starter Reese Olson in the hip and knocked him out of the game. The home run was Massey’s fifth of the year. He’s off to a really nice start as he’s hitting .284 with an .805 OPS and has 19 RBI in 27 games this season.

    • Loses perfect ERA
Holmes (1-1) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks while taking a loss against the Mariners on Monday. He blew a save chance and recorded only two outs.

Advice: Holmes entered Monday with zero earned runs allowed through 20 innings this season. Seattle chipped away at him with singles and walks to plate four runs and take the lead in the ninth inning. Holmes' ERA jumped to 1.74 as he was handed his first loss of the year. He's converted 13 of his 15 save chances while registering a 23:6 K:BB through 20.2 innings. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago
    • Wacha picks up fourth win Monday
Michael Wacha allowed two runs in seven innings and picked up the win in the Royals’ 8-3 victory over the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: The win was Wacha’s fourth of the season. He allowed six hits, a walk, and struck out three. The Tigers only runs against Wacha came on a Kerry Carpenter solo home run in the fourth inning and a Colt Keith RBI double in the seventh inning. Wacha’s ERA is now 4.45 on the season. So far he’s rewarded fantasy managers that picked him up for his two-start week. The 32-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Rays on the road this weekend.

    • Collects win in extras
Scott (4-4) earned the win Monday against the Brewers, allowing no hits and one walk in one shutout inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Scott gathered his fourth win by shutting down Milwaukee in the top of the tenth and benefitting from a walk-off Josh Bell single in the bottom of the inning. The Marlins lefty has tossed seven consecutive scoreless outings, notching three wins, one save and one hold with a 9:5 K:BB over 7.1 innings. Despite owning a 8.1 BB/9, Scott sports a 1.80 ERA in 20 innings overall. Rotowire.com Today, 7:17 pm
