      David Fry delivered a two-run single and also stole a base on Monday, leading the Guardians to a 3-1 victory over the Mets.

      Advice: Fry kicked off the scoring with a two-run single off Mets starter Tylor Megill in the opening frame. He also walked and stole a base -- his third theft of the season -- in the fourth inning as well.       Emmanuel Clase tossed a perfect ninth inning on Monday against the Mets to record his league-leading 14th save of the season.

      Advice: Clase was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and needed just 12 pitches (seven strikes) to end the contest. The 26-year-old elite stopper has converted a major league-leading 14 of 17 save opportunities to go along with a microscopic 0.37 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 24/2 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings (25 appearances).       Astros manager Joe Espada said that McCormick (hamstring) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the Angels, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: However, McCormick is with the Astros at Minute Maid Park and will go through a pregame workout.       Brennan went 1-for-4 with a three-run walk-off home run in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Twins.

      Advice: Brennan played the hero Sunday, taking Jhoan Duran deep in the bottom of the ninth inning after the Twins tied the game a half-inning earlier. The homer was Brennan's first since May 1. The outfielder is hitting .254 (15-for-59) in May with four extra-base hits over 18 contests, though that's an improvement from earlier in the campaign. Brennan is slashing .231/.283/.396 with five homers, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored and two stolen bases over 145 plate appearances while seeing a majority of the playing time in right field.       Robert (hip) is still awaiting his first action at the team's complex in Glendale, Ariz., Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. "We anticipate some game action later this week,'' general manager Chris Getz said. "He seems to have turned the corner and is trending well."

      Advice: There was some hope that Robert would get into games in Arizona last week, but the White Sox decided not to push it. Robert missed more than three months with a similar injury in 2021, so it makes sense that the organization would take a cautious approach.
