    • Mixed bag in no-decision
Castillo did not factor into the decision Saturday in Baltimore, permitting two runs on four hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out two.

Advice: The four walks were a season high and the two strikeouts were by far a season low for Castillo. He still managed a seven straight quality start, though, keeping his team in it before the Mariners' offense rallied late. It's the first no-decision of the season for Castillo, who is just 4-5 in spite of a 3.28 ERA, including a 2.01 mark across his last seven outings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:55 pm

    • Justin Verlander allows four in loss to Brewers
Justin Verlander gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings while receiving a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: Verlander has essentially alternated strong starts with poor ones since coming off the injured list, and this one goes on the ineffective side. The right-hander allowed four hits and two walks, and the big blow was a three-run homer allowed to William Contreras. He’ll be back on the mound Friday against the Athletics. • Luis Castillo posts quality start in no-decision
Luis Castillo posted a quality start in a no-decision against the Orioles on Saturday, allowing just two runs on four hits across his six innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander also issued four free passes on the day while recording only two strikeouts. The damage done against him came early in this one, as Austin Hays swatted a sacrifice fly in the second inning and Ryan O’Hearn added a run-scoring single in the third. Castillo generated only five swings and misses on 89 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of 21 percent. He’ll attempt to get back in the win column as he carries a 3.28 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 66/15 K/BB ratio (60 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Yankees in New York. • San Diego-Atlanta postponed Sat.
Elder and Atlanta will not play Saturday after their game versus the Padres was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: The teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader Monday. Elder will now start on Sunday instead, with Atlanta's scheduled starter for that day, Reynaldo Lopez, moving to Monday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:06 pm

    • Braves and Padres postponed due to rain Saturday
Saturday’s scheduled contest between the Braves and Padres in Atlanta was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Monday. Expect Saturday’s scheduled starters — Bryce Elder and Yu Darvish — to start on Sunday night. That would push Reynaldo Lopez and Randy Vasquez back until Monday’s twin bill. Rotoworld Today, 6:01 pm

    • Picks up save Friday
Hader struck out one batter in a perfect inning and earned the save over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Hader made quick work of the Brewers, needing just 12 pitches to snag his sixth save of the year. After a disastrous start to his Astros career -- a 9.39 ERA with one save through nine appearances -- Hader has seemingly settled in with his new team. He's allowed just two earned runs over his last 12.1 innings, lowering his season ERA to 4.50. He's riding a 5.1-inning scoreless streak with three saves and a win during that span. • Jhoan Duran allows winning run to Guardians
Jhoan Duran gave up an eighth inning home run to José Ramirez and took the loss on Friday night.

Advice: Duran entered this game tied in the eighth inning against the top of the Guardians’ order and allowed the game-winning run. It would’ve been interesting to see how the Twins managed Duran had he got through the inning cleanly: he’s yet to pitch more than an inning this season and hasn’t thrown more than 18 pitches. • Josh Hader holds former team scoreless for save
Josh Hader didn’t give up a run while picking up a save Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: Hader gets the save against one of his former employers in Milwaukee. The southpaw has now saved six games in 2024, and he’s nearly halved his 8.38 ERA on April 19 to 4.50. The issues Hader was dealing with in the earliest portion of the campaign appear to have mostly subsided. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Fans eight in loss
Glasnow (6-2) took the loss against the Reds on Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out eight over five innings.

Advice: Glasnow ran into trouble early, surrendering a leadoff homer to Will Benson to open the contest along with an RBI double to Tyler Stephenson four batters later. The Reds would get to Glasnow again in the third and fifth innings, marking only the second time this season he's allowed four or more runs in an outing. The right-hander had logged four consecutive quality starts coming into Thursday and still carries a 3.32 ERA in May to go along with a 28:4 K:BB. He's also struck out at least eight batters in five straight starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:29 am
