• Rocked by Astros
Carrasco didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Houston, allowing eight runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Carrasco should be considered lucky to have ended up with anything other than a loss, having surrendered three-run home runs to Jon Singleton and Alex Bregman and tying his career high in runs allowed. After keeping the ball in the yard in each of his first four starts, Carrasco has given up five long balls in his past two appearances, a span in which he has yielded 13 runs with a 7:3 K:BB over nine innings. Carrasco's tentatively scheduled for a matchup against the Angels on Sunday. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago
  • Cranks first home run
Wells went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Wells got the Yankees on the board in the third inning, leading off the frame with a 414-foot blast off Dean Kremer, his first of the season. The 24-year-old Wells has started to turn things around at the plate -- he's now 7-for-16 with three extra-base hits in his last four games after going 0-for-21 in his previous nine contests. Wells is now slashing .196/.338/.294 with seven runs scored and three RBI through 65 plate appearances this season while sharing catching duties with Jose Trevino. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • Falls to Baltimore
Cortes (1-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Orioles, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Three of Baltimore's four runs off Cortes came in the fourth inning, as the 29-year-old left-hander took a second straight loss. Cortes had gone seven innings in each of his previous two outings, allowing just three runs while striking out 13 in that span. His ERA now sits at 3.86 with a 1.10 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB across seven starts (42 innings). Cortes is currently scheduled to face the Tigers at home in his next start. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

  • Bregman hits first homer of season vs. Guardians
Alex Bregman went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Guardians.

Advice: The Astros found themselves down 3-0 after the first inning, but Bregman’s 426-foot blast, which marked his first homer of the season, drew things even at 3-3. It’s been a slow start to the season for Bregman, who entered the day slashing .216/.287/.268. He’s hit safely in four of his last five games and could be on the verge of finally heating up. Getting that first home run out of the way is hopefully a step in the right direction. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

  • Caratini walk of homer lifts Astros over Guardians
Victor Caratini went 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBI in the Astros’ win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Caratini’s second home run of the season came in dramatic fashion while also helping the Astros complete a comeback that started with a three-run deficit in the first inning. On a night when the Astros homered three times and sent two three-run bombs into the seats, it was Caratini’s two-run homer in extras that sent fans home happy. Down 9-8 in the bottom of the 10th and with two outs, Caratini was brought on to pinch hit for Jake Meyers and wasted little time at the plate to secure the win, ripping a 1-0 fastball from Hunter Gaddis into the stands for the walk-off win. Caratini has hit in three straight games but has appeared in only 14 games this season. Despite the big night in a clutch spot, he can remain on waivers for next week. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Andres Giménez hits first homer of 2024 vs. Astros
Andrés Giménez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: Giménez hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday when he took Cade Smith deep to right for a two-run bomb. Giménez closes out the first month of the season with a line of .280/.347/.374 to go with one homer, 17 RBI, and 17 runs scored. While he doesn’t provide much power, Giménez is providing plenty as far as scoring and driving in runs are concerned. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Hunter Brown struggles, allows six runs vs. CLE
Hunter Brown pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing six earned runs and five hits in Tuesday’s win over the Guardians.

Advice: It was a rough start to the night for Brown, who retired just one of the first four batters he faced. Things went from bad to worse when Josh Naylor swatted a three-run homer into left to put the Astros into an early deficit before their offense even took the field. Brown needed 26 pitches to get out of the first but would go on to allow three more runs before being pulled in the sixth after giving up a home run to Andrés Giménez and later walking Josh Naylor. It’s been a rough start to the season for Brown, who is taking a 9.78 ERA and 2.22 WHIP into next month. He’ll look to get right in his next outing which comes on Sunday against the Mariners. • Jorge López locks down save for Mets
Jorge López allowed one run on one hit while securing the Mets’ 4-2 win over the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: With Edwin Diaz having thrown on two straight nights, the Mets needed to turn to somebody else to close down the game on Tuesday. López entered with a 4-1 lead in the ninth and allowed a double to Mike Tauchman and two straight groundouts, one of which scored a run, before inducing a pop-up to end the game. Diaz is clearly the closer for the Mets and López is probably more like fourth in line should anything happen to Diaz, but the Mets had already used their high-leverage relievers earlier in the game and had a big enough lead to allow López to get his second save of the season. • Carrasco lit up for eight runs in loss to Astros
Carlos Carrasco allowed eight runs over four innings in the Guardians’ loss to the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: In a night that featured plenty of offense for both sides, Carrasco was tuned up for a season-high eight runs while pitching his second-shortest outing of the season. Despite being gifted a 3-0 lead before even taking to the mound, Carrasco would give that lead back in the second inning on a three-run homer to Alex Bregman and later allowed another three-run bomb to Jon Singleton to go down 8-3. Carrasco has now allowed 13 earned runs over his last nine innings pitched after allowing just seven runs over his first four starts. The veteran righty will look to correct course in his next outing, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Angels. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
