      Phillips pitched a perfect inning and struck out one to earn the save in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: This was Phillips' first appearance in nearly a month due to a hamstring strain. He looked rust-free, throwing 11 pitches (seven strikes) to set down the bottom of the Rockies' order for his ninth save of the season. Phillips has a 0.61 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB over 14.2 innings, and he's yet to take a blown save this year. It doesn't appear he'll be eased into the closer role again, not that he needs to be handled with kid gloves considering his track record in high-leverage spots over the last two years.       Pasquantino went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a double in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Pasquantino twice gave the Royals a lead, first with a first-inning homer and then with an RBI single in the third, but that was the extent of the team's run production. The first baseman is heating up with three straight multi-hit efforts. He's gone 7-for-15 with four extra-base hits and six RBI in that span after batting just .148 over a 16-game stretch with no multi-hit performances. For the season, Pasquantino is slashing .242/.317/.434 with seven homers, 39 RBI, 27 runs scored, 15 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases through 56 contests.       Harper went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and three total runs scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Cardinals.

      Advice: Harper provided the Phillies with extra breathing room, taking St. Louis reliever John King deep in the seventh inning. Over the previous 10 games, Harper took a small step back, batting .257 (9-for-35) with three home runs and seven RBI to close out May. Following his second consecutive multi-hit game, he's batting .276/.381/.538 with 14 homers, 44 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases over 54 contests this season.       Bryce Harper went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a walk and a two-run home run against the Cardinals on Saturday.

      Advice: The home run was Harper’s 14th on the season. He scored all three times he was on base and broke the game open with a two-run home run in the seventh inning to put the Phillies ahead 6-1. Harper’s average is up to .276 with a .919 OPS.       Weathers (3-5) took the loss to the Rangers on Saturday, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks with 11 strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: Weathers opened with two scoreless frames before allowing two runs in each of the third and fourth innings. Weathers struck out the side in his sixth and final inning to finish with a season-high 11 strikeouts, but nine hits allowed also represented his highest total in 2024.       Ryan Weathers struck out 11 but allowed four runs over six innings in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

      Advice: The 11 strikeouts are a season-high for Weathers, and it’s the second time he’s reached double digits in 2024. The punchouts are nice, but he also allowed nine hits and four runs, so this was a mixed effort at best from the 24-year-old.       Vinnie Pasquantino homered and drove in three runs in a loss for the Royals to the Padres on Saturday.

      Advice: Pasquantino hit a two-run shot off Randy Vasquez in the first inning to give Kansas City a 2-1 lead, and he gave the Royals another lead with an RBI single two innings later. The 26-year-old has driven home 39 runs over KC’s 60 games, and the homer was his seventh. The .242 average leaves a bit to be desired, but Pasquantino is capable of helping in several categories with his left-handed bat, as evidenced by this showing Saturday.     • Ke’Bryan Hayes belts two-run homer in victory
      Ke’Bryan Hayes went 2-for-4 and belted a two-run homer on Saturday, powering the Pirates to a lopsided 8-1 victory over the Blue Jays in Toronto.

      Advice: Hayes put the exclamation point on a three-run first inning for the Pirates with his 404-foot (107.8 mph EV) two-run blast off of Yusei Kikuchi. That would be more than enough run support for Mitch Keller and company in this one. Hayes also led off the sixth inning with a single and scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jared Triolo.     • Yusei Kikuchi hit hard in loss to Pirates Saturday
      Yusei Kikuchi was hit hard in Saturday afternoon’s loss to the Pirates, giving up six runs (five earned) on nine hits over his 5 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: The 32-year-old southpaw struck out four batters on the afternoon while issuing one base on balls. The Pirates jumped on him for three runs in the opening inning, including a two-run blast off the bat of Ke’Bryan Hayes. Kikuchi then settled in until they scratched out two more in the fifth and another while chasing him in the sixth inning. He generated 12 swings and misses on 89 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 3.66 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 65/14 K/BB ratio (66 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:55 pm
