    Soto went 3-for-5 with a home run and five total RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 victory versus the Astros.

    Advice: Soto put New York on the board in the first inning with a 440-foot two-run blast to center field. He added a run-scoring single in the second frame, an RBI groundout in the sixth and a run-scoring single in the eighth.   • Pulled in fifth frame again
    Civale (2-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings.

    Advice: Civale began the game with four scoreless innings before serving up a Paul DeJong two-run homer in the fifth. The right-hander got the next two batters out but then yielded a single and a walk before getting the hook. It was the fourth straight game in which Civale was yanked from a start during the fifth inning, and he's recorded an ugly 9.82 ERA and 1.91 WHIP along with a 17:8 K:BB over 18.2 frames during that stretch.     Suarez earned the save Wednesday against the Cubs, striking out one across a perfect inning.

    Advice: Suarez advanced to 12-for-12 on save chances this season, putting him in lockstep with Kyle Finnegan for the most saves in baseball. The former has allowed just seven hits on the season, and the lone run charged against him came via a home run back on March 28. Suarez hasn't allowed a hit in 5.2 innings.     Advice: Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo used Kevin Ginkel to close out what was a 4-2 lead to begin the bottom of the ninth inning, but he ran into trouble, allowing a walk and two singles. Lovullo turned to Joe Mantiply to close out the game. Presumably, the manager didn't want to push Sewald so soon after missing a month-and-a-half with an oblique injury; he threw 15 pitches Tuesday in his first game off the injured list.   • Aaron Civale bounced in fifth inning of loss
    Aaron Civale was dealt his third loss of the season on Wednesday, giving up two runs on five hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.

    Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander struck out four batters on the night while issuing a pair of walks. All of the damage done against him came on one swing of the bat by Paul DeJong in his final inning of work. Civale got nine swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings a disappointing 5.88 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 43/12 K/BB ratio (41 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Red Sox in Boston.   • Juan Soto homers, drives in five in win vs. Astros
    Juan Soto went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI to lead the Yankees to a 9-4 victory over the Astros on Wednesday.

    Advice: Soto put the Yankees on the board in the first inning with a solo blast off Spencer Arrighetti. He drove in another run with a single in the second, then plated a run with a groundout in the sixth. Soto made it five RBI on the day with a base hit in the eighth.     Brent Rooker went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Rangers.

    Advice: Rooker finished off a three-hit effort with a towering 427-foot blast -- his ninth round-tripper of the season -- to straightaway center field in the seventh inning to cap off Oakland’s nine-run offensive explosion in the front-end of Wednesday’s twin bill.     Bibee did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Tigers, allowing four runs on five hits in four innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: Bibee looked sharp early Wednesday, allowing just one hit through his first three innings. However, things went south in the fourth, when Bibee allowed four runs on four hits. While Cleveland would ultimately rally for a win in 10 innings, it was another disappointing start from Bibee -- he's now allowed 10 runs over nine innings in his last two outings. Overall, the 25-year-old right-hander is 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 44:13 K:BB in eight starts (40.1 innings) this season.
