  • Pulled in fifth frame again
    Civale (2-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings.

    Advice: Civale began the game with four scoreless innings before serving up a Paul DeJong two-run homer in the fifth. The right-hander got the next two batters out but then yielded a single and a walk before getting the hook. It was the fourth straight game in which Civale was yanked from a start during the fifth inning, and he's recorded an ugly 9.82 ERA and 1.91 WHIP along with a 17:8 K:BB over 18.2 frames during that stretch.   • Aaron Civale bounced in fifth inning of loss
    Aaron Civale was dealt his third loss of the season on Wednesday, giving up two runs on five hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.

    Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander struck out four batters on the night while issuing a pair of walks. All of the damage done against him came on one swing of the bat by Paul DeJong in his final inning of work. Civale got nine swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings a disappointing 5.88 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 43/12 K/BB ratio (41 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Red Sox in Boston.     Bibee did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Tigers, allowing four runs on five hits in four innings. He struck out five.

    Advice: Bibee looked sharp early Wednesday, allowing just one hit through his first three innings. However, things went south in the fourth, when Bibee allowed four runs on four hits. While Cleveland would ultimately rally for a win in 10 innings, it was another disappointing start from Bibee -- he's now allowed 10 runs over nine innings in his last two outings. Overall, the 25-year-old right-hander is 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 44:13 K:BB in eight starts (40.1 innings) this season.   • Tanner Bibee pulled after four against Tigers
    Tanner Bibee gave up four runs in four innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Tigers.

    Advice: Bibee cruised through three innings, allowing just one single, but everything went wrong in the fourth, which started with a single to conclude a 10-pitch at-bat. The Tigers wound up getting three more hits, as well as a key HBP, to produce a four-run inning in which Bibee threw more pitches (43) than in the first three combined (39). It was such a long inning that the Guardians didn’t bring Bibee back out for the fifth.   • Back to IL with shoulder issue
    The Marlins placed Cabrera on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder impingement.

    Advice: Cabrera was removed after two innings during his start in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers with what was referred to as right biceps discomfort, but it's officially a shoulder impingement that will force him to the IL. It's the same injury that kept him out for the first few weeks of the season. Cabrera will be eligible to return from the IL later this month, but there's currently no timetable for the righty.   • Marlins place Edward Cabrera on 15-day IL
    Marlins placed RHP Edward Cabrera on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

    Advice: Even with Braxton Garrett back from the injured list, another Marlins starter is right back on that list. Cabrera exited Tuesday’s game early with what was called bicep discomfort, but the team is placing him on the IL with a shoulder injury. The 26-year-old is off to a rough start posting a 7.17 ERA, 1.59 WHIP with a 31/14 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:51 am

    Burnes (3-2) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over 6.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Nationals.

    Advice: The three walks matched a season high, and the Nationals proved opportunistic by logging three steals with Burnes on the mound. The right-hander has earned a quality start in five of his eight outings and has yet to give up more than three runs in any of his starts. He's winless over his last three starts but owns a 2.83 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB through 47.2 innings overall. Burnes lines up for a home start versus the Blue Jays in his next outing.   • Throws seven strong innings
    Sanchez (2-3) picked up the win Tuesday against Toronto, allowing one run on six hits in seven innings while striking out five and walking two.

    Advice: Sanchez was coming off a pair of starts in which he allowed nine runs (five earned) in eight innings with more walks (five) than strikeouts (four), so there was some speculation that he could lose his rotation spot or fall into a piggyback situation with Spencer Turnbull where only the latter would have a chance at wins. Instead, Sanchez bounced back with an excellent outing, throwing more than 6.0 innings for the first time this year. Turnbull did follow Sanchez out of the pen, throwing the final two innings, but if Tuesday's outing is any indication, Sanchez will continue to be used as a traditional starter as long as he pitches well enough to remain in the role.   • Edward Cabrera exits with biceps discomfort
    Edward Cabrera surrendered four runs in two innings before leaving Tuesday’s game with right biceps discomfort.

    Advice: It was assumed his early exit was because of his struggles in walking four and giving up a grand slam, but the Marlins revealed the injury after the game.
