      Advice: Manager John Schneider said Romano's elbow has not recovered properly following his last outing Wednesday against the White Sox. The team is officially labeling his injury as "soreness" for now, but the Jays should have a better idea of what Romano is dealing with ahead of Saturday's contest.       Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters after Friday’s game that Jordan Romano was unavailable due to elbow soreness.

      Advice: The right-handers’ elbow didn’t bounce back after his last outing against the White Sox, which is seemingly cause for concern.       Rodon (7-2) picked up the win over the Angels on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over six-plus innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Rodon ran through the Angels' lineup for most of the night, surrendering one run over the first six frames while producing five 1-2-3 innings. However, the veteran lefty would run into trouble in the seventh after allowing the first three batters to reach, paving the way for Ian Hamilton to take over in relief.     • Carlos Rodón allows three over six in win over Angels
      Carlos Rodón gave up three runs over six innings to pick up a win Thursday over the Angels.

      Advice: Rodón allowed just one run over the first six innings, but a pair of runs were charged to him in the seventh to turn an excellent start into a solid if unspectacular effort. The southpaw struck out five and walked one, and he’s still the owner of a 3.09 effort for his troubles in 2024. Rodón will get another chance to pitch Wednesday against the Twins.       Burnes (5-2) earned the win over Boston on Wednesday, allowing an unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out five batters over seven innings.

      Advice: Burnes was splendid in the outing, yielding no extra-base hits and allowing zero earned runs for the second time in his past three starts. The right-hander's five strikeouts were mildly disappointing, but he did have his swing-and-miss stuff working with 16 whiffs in the contest.       Romano allowed one run on one hit and struck out one over one inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Romano had enough of a cushion that he was able to get away with allowing a solo home run to Korey Lee. This was the second outing in a row in which Romano's given up a homer. The right-hander is 8-for-9 in save chances this season while pitching to a shaky 6.59 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB over 13.2 innings. He's yet to go more than two outings in a row without giving up a run, so while he remains the Blue Jays' closer, his appearances have often included a dash of drama.     • Jordan Romano grabs save despite home run
      Jordan Romano surrendered a solo home run and struck out a batter in a save against the White Sox on Wednesday.

      Advice: The homer was the fourth Romano has allowed as he continues his shaky season. It would’ve been nice to see a clean outing in this one, especially on the heels of his implosion in Detroit on Sunday.       Lugo (9-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Twins, allowing one run on six hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings.

      Advice: Lugo won five of his six starts in May, allowing just nine runs (eight earned) over 40.1 innings in the month. This was just the fourth time in 12 starts Lugo has allowed nine or more baserunners, as he's been one of the most dominant pitchers in the majors this season. The right-hander is now at a 1.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 66:18 K:BB over 78.1 innings this season. Lugo's next start is projected to be at Cleveland in a battle between the AL Central's two best teams.       Seth Lugo stayed on track allowing just one earned run across six innings in a 6-1 win over the Twins. He struck out five and walked three.

      Advice: Lugo continued his stellar season earning his ninth win. He only induced nine whiffs and the Twins made plenty of hard contact with nine hard-hit balls, but Lugo once again managed to limit damage.
