    • Nine-game hitting streak
Diaz went 1-for-4 with a walk Saturday against Atlanta.

Advice: Diaz extended his hitting streak to nine games with the performance, during which he's collected multiple hits on five occasions. He's hitting .359 in that span, though his production has otherwise been empty as he has zero extra-base hits, one RBI and three runs scored. Diaz has managed only a .094 ISO across 309 plate appearances for the campaign, so his lack of power has not been a short-term issue. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:55 am
    • Triston Casas (rib) takes dry swings on Saturday
Triston Casas (rib) was able to take dry swings for the first time on Saturday without any issue.

Advice: It’s unclear how many times he’ll have to repeat the process before he’s able to face live pitching, but it’s encouraging to hear that he’s swinging the bat once again. The 24-year-old slugger is hopeful that he’ll be able to return in early July. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:59 pm

    • Diaz has two hits in win over Cubs Thursday
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Diaz’ RBI single was the difference in the 3-2 Rays win. The defending batting champion in the American League is heating up at the plate. He’s now 17-for-50 (.340) in his last 12 games to get his average up to .260 on the season.

    • Taking slight swings
Casas (ribs) has begun taking slight swings off a tee, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Casas experienced lingering pain in the rib area when rotating his torso, which delayed his progression. Once Casas' slight swings lead to normal swings in a live batting practice, the Red Sox should have a better gauge for his return. He had originally planned to be ready when eligible June 21, but that has been pushed back to early July. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:09 am

    • Cora: Triston Casas hasn’t started swinging yet
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Tuesday that Triston Casas (rib) has yet to resume swinging.

Advice: Casas has expressed optimism that he’ll return around early July, but that timeline seems a bit aggressive if he’s yet to be cleared to resume swinging yet. There should be some additional clarity on his return timeline at some point in the near future, but he’s not close at the moment. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:32 pm

    • Still not cleared to swing bat
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Casas (ribs) is fielding grounders but hasn't been cleared to swing a bat, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Casas had said previously that he was hoping to begin swinging a bat this past weekend, but he's still not ready to take that step. The first baseman has been aiming for a return to Boston's active roster around July 1, but that date probably represents a best-case scenario since he still has numerous boxes he needs to check before being reinstated from the 60-day injured list. • Isaac Paredes not starting Sunday vs. Orioles
Isaac Paredes is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Orioles.

Advice: Paredes, 25, will take a break for the first time in nearly a month (May 13). The power-hitting third baseman will get a day of rest with Taylor Walls taking his place in the lineup at shortstop and Jose Caballero moving over to the hot corner. Rotoworld Jun 9, 7:48 am

    • Getting breather Sunday
Paredes is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Paredes will not start for the first time since May 13 against the Red Sox. Over the first two games of the series, the 24-year-old has gone 0-for-7 with two strikeouts. Jose Caballero will shift over to third base Sunday, while Taylor Walls starts at shortstop against Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez. Rotowire.com Jun 9, 7:42 am

    • Diaz has two-hit game Saturday
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 against the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Rays as they were shutout. Diaz had the only two hits for Tampa Bay. After winning the batting title in the American League last year, he’s hitting just .245 so far this season. Diaz’ .273 BABIP this year is well below his .320 career BABIP. That doesn’t explain his lack of power this year as his .105 ISO is way down from his .192 ISO last season. Rotoworld Jun 8, 4:25 pm
