    • Trea Turner homers twice in win over Cubs
Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.

Advice: Turner hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead and later returned to hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5-1. The Phillies start shortstop now has five homers on the season and has hit safely in five of his last six games. Turner is slashing a solid .338/.386/.487 on the season but hasn’t offered much as far as steals are concerned, which could be chalked up to the hamstring injury he returned from a few weeks ago. • Spencer Arrighetti hit hard in loss to Jays
Spencer Arrighetti allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits in four innings in a loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: He struck out five and walked four on the day while also allowing two home runs. He induced just six whiffs on the day for a 15 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW. The rookie now has a 6.13 ERA on the season and with Luis Garcia continuing to progress on his rehab assignment, there may be only a few more starts left for Arrighetti at the big league level in 2024. • Michael Mercado earns first career win vs. Cubs
Michael Mercado allowed two hits and one earned run over five innings to pick up the win on Tuesday against the Cubs.

Advice: Mercado made his first career start on Tuesday night and was about as good as we could have hoped for. The 25-year-old righty allowed just four baserunners on the evening, with three of those coming in the third inning. The lone run he allowed came on a double by Cody Bellinger, but Mercado did more than enough to limit the Cubs’ bats to pick up his first career win in the big leagues. With Spencer Turnbull on the 15-day IL, Mercado will have a chance to make another start or two. He’s scheduled to toe the rubber again on Sunday against the Braves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:42 pm
    • Alexis Díaz earns a save in win over Yankees
Alexis Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn a save in a 5-4 win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: Díaz has now converted 11 straight save chances and has pitched to a 1.98 ERA in 14 2/3 innings over that stretch. However, some of the early command issues remain as Díaz has a 13.2 percent walk rate over that same span. He may remain volatile given his subpar command and he doesn’t miss as many bats as your typical closer, but he remains locked into the closer’s role on a solid team and will continue to rack up saves. • Elly De La Cruz homers in win over Yankees
Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs in a win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: The home run was a 425-foot shot for his 15th home run of the season. Elly also struck out twice and is hitting just .226 over his last 40 games while posting a strikeout rate of over 31 percent; however, his athleticism and raw power are so elite that he continues to produce fantasy goodness. If he ever made the plate discipline gains to make more consistent contact, he could be the best player in fantasy baseball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:31 pm
    • Judge has three hits, HR in loss
Aaron Judge went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a solo home run in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: This Judge guy is pretty good. The big man is now up to an absurd 32 home runs and 83 RBI on the season while slashing .321/.440/.718. There’s a good chance he could win the Triple Crown this season, and he continues to be unbeatable by anything other than cement walls in the outfield. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:28 pm

    • Ashcraft fades in 6th inning against Yankees
Graham Ashcraft allowed three runs on four hits in five innings in a win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: Ashcraft threw five shutout innings, but he came out for the sixth inning and allowed a single, a walk, and a run-scoring single before being removed from the game. Nick Martinez then allowed a two-run double to bring in the other runs charged to Ashcraft. While the overall performance was solid, Ashcraft also struck out just three batters, walked two, and posted a 24 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. There just isn’t much here for fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:25 pm
    • Luis Gil’s struggles continue in loss
Luis Gil allowed four runs on two hits in four innings in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: The command simply wasn’t there for Gil on Tuesday, walking three and striking out three while throwing 83 pitches in just four innings. There has been some concern that Gil is hitting a bit of a wall after allowing 16 earned runs in his last 9 2/3 innings. The Yankees maintain confidence in the 26-year-old, but he left a lot of sliders up in the zone today and struggled to command his changeup, so perhaps he is getting a little tired in his breakout season. • DJ Herz strikes out 10 Mets on Tuesday
DJ Herz allowed one run on five hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Mets

Advice: Herz also struck out 10 and didn’t walk a single batter on the day. In fact, his only real blemish was a solo home run given up to Francisco Lindor in the sixth inning. The left-hander induced 16 whiffs on 51 swings for a 31 percent whiff rate and 38 percent CSW. His four-seam and cutter did the most damage on the day; however, Herz also showcased a new changeup that was three mph faster with less drop and more horizontal run. It didn’t get many whiffs on the day but induced a lot of weak contact and could be a decent development for the 23-year-old. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:03 pm
