    • Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) in lineup Sunday vs. CIN
Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) is in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Ohtani will get the start as he continues to play through the right hamstring contusion. The 29-year-old didn’t look at 100 percent while picking up a triple during Saturday’s contest, but it’s obviously a positive to see that he’s able to play through the issue. • Remains in lineup Sunday
Ohtani will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter and No. 2 batter in Sunday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Though manager Dave Roberts disclosed after Saturday's 3-1 loss that Ohtani has been managing a bruised hamstring of late, the 29-year-old still served as the Dodgers' DH for all nine innings of the contest, going 1-for-4 with a triple and three strikeouts. According to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, Ohtani wasn't running at full speed when he legged out the triple, and while the hamstring issue doesn't look as though it'll cost him any starts, it could result in his stolen-base opportunities being more limited in the short term. Ohtani has gone a perfect 13-for-13 in stolen-base attempts through his first 52 games of the season. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

    • Shohei Ohtani playing through hamstring bruise
Shohei Ohtani is playing through a right hamstring contusion.

Advice: The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya adds that the Dodgers are managing Ohtani’s lingering issue, which he suffered during their last homestand when he was hit by a pickoff throw, by placing a “governor” on him while running the bases. The restriction became apparent when the 29-year-old cruised around the bases at less than full speed on his sixth-inning triple during Saturday’s contest against the Reds. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward, but it’s certainly an issue fantasy managers should continue monitoring. Ohtani has been phenomenal in his Los Angeles debut so far, currently leads the majors with a .338 batting average along with 13 homers and 13 steals through 52 games. • Fares well in road start
Nola allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Nola turned in his third straight quality start, which was his seventh such outing this year. He left the game on the hook for the loss, but the Phillies rallied ahead in the ninth inning. Nola has allowed six runs (four earned) over his last 22 innings, giving him a 3.04 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 65:20 K:BB through 71 innings across 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:05 pm

    • Nola strikes out five in no-decision Saturday
Aaron Nola allowed three runs (two earned) in six innings and got a no-decision in the Phillies’ 8-4 victory over the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Nola pitched fairly well, but left the game with a 3-2 deficit so he didn’t qualify for the win in this one. He had won his previous two starts. Nola allowed five hits, two walks and struck out five. His ERA is now 3.04 on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cardinals at home next week.

    • Playing with bruised hamstring
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Ohtani has been playing with a bruised right hamstring in recent days, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Ohtani was hit in the leg by a pickoff throw during the team's last homestand and has been instructed to not exert full effort on the bases for the time being. The issue hasn't caused him to miss any games, and at this point, Ohtani doesn't look as though he'll be subject to any days off. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:25 pm

    • Will Smith scores lone run in loss to Reds
Will Smith went 1-for-4 and scored the Dodgers’ lone run in Saturday’s loss to the Reds.

Advice: The 29-year-old backstop led off the second inning with a single and ultimately scored as Jason Heyward bounced into a double play with the bases loaded. That would be his only hit on the night — and one of just five hits that the Dodgers would muster in the contest. On the season, Smith is now hitting .297/.365/.477 with six homers and 33 RBI. • Records 11th save
Bednar allowed two hits but hung on for a scoreless inning and a save in Saturday's 4-1 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Tasked with protecting a three-run lead, Bednar retired the first two batters of the ninth inning before back-to-back hits put the tying run in Ronald Acuna at the plate. The closer then got Acuna to ground into a fielder's choice to thwart the threat. After blowing three save chances in seven tries to start the season, Bednar has successfully converted each of his last seven opportunities. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:12 pm

    • David Bednar works around jam to get save vs. ATL
David Bednar worked around two hits to get a save with a scoreless inning against Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Bednar put the tying run at the plate in the form of Ronald Acuña Jr., but he was able to get Acuña Jr. to hit into a fielder’s choice. The 29-year-old has had his share of struggles in 2024, but he was able to lower his ERA to 6.75 while picking up his 11th save. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:42 pm
