    • Homer, steal in win
Chapman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Friday's 5-3 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Chapman's power has come back, as he has three extra-base hits -- including two homers -- over his last five games. The third baseman gave the Giants their first lead Friday with his sixth-inning blast. For the season, up to 10 homers, 35 RBI, 53 runs scored and seven steals while posting a .235/.316/.399 slash line over 80 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:37 pm

    • On base four times in loss
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Mets.

Advice: The 27-year-old slugger consistently got himself into scoring position, but the rest of the Houston lineup had trouble bringing him around. Since missing a couple games earlier in the month to attend to a personal matter, Alvarez has gone 9-for-27 (.333) in seven contests with three doubles, two homers, four RBI and five runs. Friday's steal was also his career-high fourth of the season -- he came into 2024 with only two in 482 career games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm

    • Matt Chapman homers, steals base in victory
Matt Chapman stole a base and hit a two-run homer in a win for the Giants on Friday over the Dodgers.

Advice: Chapman hit a two-run homer off Daniel Hudson for his 10th homer of the season, and he stole his seventh bag of the year for good measure. The 31-year-old has been a mild disappointment thus far in 2024 — depending on expectations, of course — with a .235/.316/.399 slash, but the homers and steals have help balance things out a bit. • Slugs 11th homer
Merrill went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 9-2 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The rookie capped San Diego's improbable nine-run fifth inning by sending a Greg Weissert fastball over the fence in straightaway center field. Merrill's power has emerged as the weather has heated up -- while his 11 homers through 82 games is already good for a 21-year-old in his first MLB campaign, eight of those long balls have come in his last 15 contests, a stretch in which he's batting .309 (17-for-55) with 11 runs and 16 RBI. • Power surge continues Friday
Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 16-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: His solo shot off Luke Weaver in the seventh inning wrapped up the scoring for the Blue Jays on the night and made the score 7-5, but the Toronto bullpen imploded late. Guerrero has multiple hits in five straight games and six of the last seven, batting .406 (13-for-32) over that latter stretch with four doubles, five homers, eight runs and 14 RBI. • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with two hits, home run
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI against the Yankees on Friday.

Advice: Guerrero has played well of late despite trade rumors about him swirling. The homer was his seventh of June when he had just five all season entering the month. His hot streak has been relatively understated because of how horrible the Blue Jays have been as a team. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 pm
    • Jackson Merrill homers in nine-run fifth inning
Jackson Merrill hit a three-run homer to camp a nine-run fifth as the Padres bested the Red Sox 9-2 on Friday.

Advice: The Padres were held scoreless until the fifth, when the first nine batters totaled nine runs on eight hits and one walk against Nick Pivetta and Greg Weissert. Merrill concluded the rally with the second homer of the inning. After that, the Padres put their bats back to bed, coming up with just one hit off Chase Anderson in the final four innings. Merrill’s homer was his 11th in 82 games. His current .282/.318/.439 line is a near match for the .277/.326/.444 he came in at least year, only that was compiled in high-A and Double-A. • Yordan Alvarez doubles twice in loss
Yordan Alvarez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, and a run scored on Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Alvarez was on base four times in this one as the Mets just could not figure him out. All three of his balls in play were hit at least 108.9 MPH as his OPS has drifted all the way back up to .892, 11th highest in the league. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm

    • Homers twice in win
Siri went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in a 3-1 win over the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Siri led off the second inning with a home run off Mitchell Parker, walked in the fourth and then opened the sixth with another long ball off Jacob Barnes. The outfielder now has eight multi-hit efforts and six home runs in June, though he has not stolen any bases in the month. On the season, Siri is hitting .219 with 11 home runs, 29 RBI, 36 runs scored and seven steals in 246 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:19 pm
