    • Hurls quality start Monday
Garrett allowed one run in six innings, he gave up five hits and struck out six in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Garrett served up a solo homer to Michael Siani in the fifth that turned out to be his only mistake in an otherwise stellar showing. He also didn't allow a walk in his six innings of work, making it the fourth time in his seven starts this season that he didn't allow a free pass. The 26-year-old has been inconsistent this season, as he has allowed 22 runs in four of his starts but has only given up two runs in his other three appearances.  Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

    • Wild but effective Monday
Hicks allowed four hits and four walks while striking out four batters over five scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Monday.

Advice: Hicks recently battled an illness but was able to take his regular turn in the rotation Monday. He threw only 48 of 87 pitches for strikes and tied a season high in issuing four free passes, but he was able to work around constant traffic on the basepaths to finish with five scoreless frames. It was the first time Hicks has held an opponent scoreless since his season debut against San Diego on March 30, though he's been quite reliable in yielding three or fewer earned runs in all but one of his 15 outings. The right-hander holds a 2.82 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 68:28 K:BB through 76.2 innings on the season. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

    • Smacks 12th home run
De La Cruz went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Monday's 7-6 loss versus the Cardinals.

Advice: De La Cruz's only hit in this game was a big one, he tied the score up with a three-run blast off JoJo Romero in the eighth. The 27-year-old is already up to 12 homers a year after totaling 19 in 153 games. His power numbers make him a valuable player, despite his low OBP and high strikeout totals. He'll carry a .242/.295/.416 slash line into Tuesday's contest. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

    • James Paxton goes seven strong to win at Coors
James Paxton limited the Rockies to one run and two hits in seven innings to win at Coors Field on Monday.

Advice: There’s not really any predicting Paxton this season. He looked done 10 days ago after giving up seven runs and getting pulled in the second versus the Pirates, but he’s since bounced back by allowing two runs and four hits in 13 innings in his last two starts. The Yoshinobu Yamamoto injury took the idea of stashing Paxton on the IL off the board for the Dodgers. He still doesn’t seem like a great bet at this point, but he is a streaming option while pitching for one of baseball’s best teams. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

    • Cal Quantrill surrenders three runs in loss
Cal Quantrill lost to the Dodgers after allowing three runs in five innings on Monday.

Advice: This could and probably should have been worse, given that Quantill allowed seven hits and walked three, but it goes as a pretty routine loss. Quantrill dropped to 6-5 with a 3.43 ERA. The sooner the Rockies trade him, the better the return will be. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

    • Freddie Freeman walks five times in victory
Freddie Freeman singled and walked five times Monday against the Rockies.

Advice: Freeman became the first player to walk five times in a game since Matt Chapman on Aug. 12, 2021 and the first to both walk five times and collect a hit since, unbelievably, Rougned Odor on Aug. 2, 2018. Freeman had two runs scored and zero RBI to show for his success tonight. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
    • Miguel Rojas goes 3-for-5 in Dodgers’ victory
Miguel Rojas went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored against the Rockies on Monday.

Advice: Sure, Jazz Chisholm Jr. doesn’t seem to like him, but how badly did the Marlins botch things by trading Rojas for a prospect they didn’t even want a year and a half ago? Rojas is batting .292/.339/.460 in 121 plate appearances this season, and he’ll serve as the Dodgers’ primary shortstop while Mookie Betts is out. Meanwhile, the Marlins continue to roll with Tim Anderson, who might be the very worst player in the league. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

    • Greg Jones hits first MLB home run
Greg Jones hit his first major league homer as a pinch-hitter Monday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Jones, a longtime Rays prospect, took fellow former Rays pitcher JP Feyereisen deep tonight. It’s Jones’ first hit in five at-bats since his callup 11 days ago. The Rockies, who are suffering for their utter inability to manage a 40-man roster, have given Jones just one start since calling him up from Triple-A. All indications are that he’ll head back to the minors in the near future, but it still might make sense for Colorado to give him some at-bats in the meantime. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago

    • Reaches base five times in loss
Chisholm went 2-for-2 with a triple, RBI, run scored, and three walks in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Chisholm drove in the Marlins first run with a two-out triple off Sonny Gray in the sixth. The Cardinals couldn't retire Chisholm in any of his five at-bats, he drew three walks in a game for just the second time in his career. The centerfielder also managed to extend a modest six-game hitting streak. He'll take a .266/.336/.449 slash line with 10 HR, 35 RBI, and 13 steals into his next game.  Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago
