• Set for another rehab outing
Topa (knee) reached 94 mph during a rehab assignment Friday at Triple-A St. Paul and will make another appearance on May 5, MLB.com reports. He's given up two runs in three innings with five strikeouts and no walks during three rehab outings.

Advice: Topa began the season on the shelf with left patellar tendinitis and it's taken him longer than initially expected to return. He had lower than usual velocity in his first two outings, so he may finally be ready to be activated from the injured list in a few days. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago

  • Crushed by Rangers on Saturday
Wacha (1-4) took the loss against Texas on Saturday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 3.2 innings.

Advice: Wacha was pelted by seven singles among the nine hits he allowed, and he exited with two outs in the fourth frame after giving up a single to four of the final five batters he faced. The seven runs were a season-worst mark for the right-hander, while his three punchouts tied a season low. Wacha was doing fine with a 3.81 ERA through his first five starts this season, but that number has since ballooned to 5.50 as a result of the veteran hurler giving up 11 earned runs over 9.1 innings across his past two appearances. • Doesn't go deep enough to win
Dunning allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Saturday.

Advice: Texas jumped out a 7-0 lead through four innings, which appeared to set Dunning up for an easy win. Meanwhile, the right-hander cruised through those four frames, facing the minimum 12 batters. However, Dunning ran into trouble in the top of the fifth, allowing four Royals to reach base in a span of five hitters, resulting in two runs and a two-out hook. That prevented Dunning from qualifying for the victory, which would have given him his first winning streak of the campaign. He still managed to lower his season ERA slightly to 4.10, but it was a disappointing outing after Dunning punched out 10 batters in a dominant win his previous time on the mound. • Homer, steal in win
Wisdom went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Wisdom, who exceeded 20 homers each of the past three seasons, finally got on the board with his first long ball of 2024. He also added his second steal of the season, and his second steal since the calendar flipped to May. Wisdom has totaled just 20 at-bats since he returned from the injured list April 18, as most of his playing time has come against left-handed pitching, though he's now been the DH in two of the Cubs' last three games versus opposing right-handers. • Shohei Ohtani goes deep in Dodgers’ rout of Braves
Shohei Ohtani went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday in the Dodgers’ lopsided win over the Braves.

Advice: Ohtani connected for a third-inning round-tripper off Braves starter Bryce Elder and also added an RBI single in the ensuing frame. The 29-year-old two-way superstar has been phenomenal in his Dodgers debut so far, batting .345/.411/.633 with 28 runs scored, eight homers, 22 RBI and seven steals in 159 plate appearances. • Steals base in loss
Neto went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base Saturday in a loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Neto plated the only Angels run of the contest with a fifth-inning single. The shortstop followed with a stolen base, but he was left stranded in scoring position. Neto was batting .167 as recently as April 21, but he's turned a corner since, hitting .350 with two homers and six RBI over his past 11 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 9:53 pm

  • Bryce Elder coughs up three homers to Dodgers
Bryce Elder was blasted for seven runs over 3 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: We saw this one coming. Elder was no match for Los Angeles’ star-studded lineup as he gave up seven hits, including three round-trippers, in an abbreviated outing. He was taken deep by Max Muncy, Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages before departing in the fourth inning. He finished with four strikeouts and also issued four walks. It’s unclear whether he’ll make another start for Atlanta, but he’s tentatively lined up to take the ball next Saturday against the Mets. Rotoworld Today, 9:50 pm

  • Swipes sixth bag
Adell went 0-for-2 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Adell has been quite aggressive on the basepaths this season, as he's already set a career high with six thefts but has also been caught five times, tied for most in the majors. With Mike Trout (knee) set to miss extended time, Adell should get the opportunity to start in the outfield on a near-everyday basis. The former top prospect is looking to finally break through as a major-leaguer, and he's fared pretty well so far this season with a .265/.320/.515 slash line, four homers, 11 RBI and 12 runs through 75 plate appearances. • Ugly outing in Chicago
Myers (0-2) took the loss to the Cubs on Saturday, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks over three innings. He struck out two batters.

Advice: Nico Hoerner and Christopher Morel touched Myers up for homers, sending the right-hander to his second loss in three starts. Walks had not been an issue for Myers in his first two turns, as he walked only one batter in his first 10 innings, but he couldn't find the strike zone and/or didn't trust his stuff enough on this particular day to fill up the zone. While it was a step backward, Myers projects to remain in the rotation for the time being with DL Hall (knee) and Jakob Junis (shoulder) still without definitive timetables.
