    • Placed on IL with flexor strain
The Brewers placed Gasser on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left flexor strain.

Advice: Initial testing on Gasser's left elbow provided encouraging results, but a second opinion evidently revealed the strain. It's not clear at this point how much time the rookie southpaw might miss, but he'll almost certainly miss more than the minimum 15 days. Gasser has been a bright spot for Milwaukee this season, posting a 2.57 ERA and 16:1 K:BB over 28 frames covering five starts. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:22 am

    • Brewers lose Robert Gasser to flexor strain
Brewers placed LHP Robert Gasser on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 2, with a left flexor strain.

Advice: Gasser is traveling to receive another opinion on his elbow. The Brewers have Aaron Ashby and Tobias Myers up to act as maybe their fourth and fifth starters for now. Hopefully, Jakob Junis and Joe Ross will return in a couple of weeks, and maybe there’s a chance Gasser will be back then, too. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:17 am

    • Foley earns one-out save in win over Rangers
Jason Foley earned his 12th save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Rangers.

Advice: Foley was brought on in relief of Tyler Horton with two outs in the ninth to secure the win for the Tigers. Foley needed just five pitches to force Wyatt Langford into a ground-out and has not allowed a run in his three appearances this month. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:11 pm

    • Initial MRI encouraging
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Gasser (elbow) might miss some time but that the first MRI looked "pretty normal," Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: The left-hander will receive a second opinion for the tightness and soreness in his elbow, but the initial imaging results are encouraging. Gasser still seems unlikely to avoid a stint on the injured list given it's an elbow issue, but the Brewers have yet to make an official roster move. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:18 pm

    • MRI comes back clean on Robert Gasser’s left elbow
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that an MRI on Robert Gasser’s left elbow came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging development for Gasser as it means he’ll likely avoid an extended absence or potential surgery. However, he’s waiting for a second opinion before speaking to reporters. The 25-year-old rookie southpaw is dealing with elbow soreness and tightness, which will almost certainly send him to the injured list, but it doesn’t appear to be a worst-case scenario for now. • Tyler Anderson throws quality start in no-decision
Tyler Anderson pitched 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball Monday against the Padres.

Advice: Anderson has made a mockery of the metrics all season, but especially lately; his last four starts have seen him allow a total of four runs even though he’s given up three homers and posted a 14/13 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings. His 2.37 ERA on the year is more than two runs lower than his FIP. One imagines it will all catch up with him at some point. Rotoworld Monday, 9:19 pm

    • Yields one run in no-decision
Anderson allowed a run on five hits and three walks over 6.2 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out two during the victory against San Diego.

Advice: Anderson served up a solo shot to Manny Machado in the first inning but otherwise worked around danger for the rest of the night. Anderson has given up exactly one run in four straight outings despite registering a lackluster 14:13 K:BB during that span. On the year, his ERA is down to an impressive 2.37, while he's delivered eight quality starts in 12 appearances. Anderson's next start is in line to be at home against the Astros. • Strikes out six in no-decision
Skubal did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Skubal surrendered a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien in the first inning but held the Rangers in check over the next five and left the mound in a 1-1 tie. Skubal allowed at least one baserunner in each inning, but he was still able to earn a quality start despite not having his best stuff. Through 12 starts, Skubal, who has not walked more than two batters in any game this season, has posted a sparkling 1.97 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 86:13 K:BB and tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Brewers on Sunday. • Skubal strikes out six in no-decision Monday
Tarik Skubal allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Skubal gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. He managed to earn a quality start for the ninth time in 12 starts this season. Skubal allowed a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, but that was the only run the Rangers could muster against him. His ERA is now 1.97 as he continues to push for the AL Cy Young award. The 27-year-old left-hander will face the Brewers at home this weekend. Rotoworld Monday, 7:29 pm
