    • Gets aboard three times in loss
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Garcia is making excellent contact lately with multiple hits in nine of his last 16 games. He's gone hitless just three times in that span. It took a while for the third baseman to get into a rhythm at the plate, but the Royals stuck with him atop the lineup due to his speed. Garcia is slashing .267/.316/.398 with five home runs, 14 steals, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles and three triples through 60 contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:13 am

    • Homers, reaches base four times
Vientos went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-7 win over Washington.

Advice: Vientos hit a solo home run off Nationals starter MacKenzie Gore in the fourth inning, his second long ball over his past three games. The 24-year-old continues to crush left-handed pitching, entering Monday's game with a .444/.483/.815 slash line against southpaws. Vientos has firmly established himself as the Mets' starting third baseman, batting .339 with five home runs and 11 runs scored through 66 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:59 pm

    • Mark Vientos homers, reaches four times in win
Mark Vientos went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Monday, powering the Mets to an 8-7 victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Vientos put the Mets ahead with a gargantuan 420-foot homer off Nationals starter MacKenzie Gore in the fourth inning and wound up reaching base safely in four of his five plate appearances in a back-and-forth slugfest at Nationals Park. The 24-year-old burgeoning slugger is making the most of his opportunity as New York’s primary third baseman in the wake of Brett Baty’s demotion, batting .327 (17-for-52) with four homers over his last 15 games. He won’t sustain a .366 BABIP forever, but he’s locked-in at the dish right now and is at least worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Monday, 7:10 pm

    • Homers in loss
Vientos went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 10-5 loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Vientos hit a solo homer off Slade Cecconi in the fifth inning then singled and scored a run in the ninth. After posting three hits Friday, Vientos followed it up with another multi-hit effort that included his third home run in his past eight games. With Brett Baty being optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, it appears Vientos will have a chance to stake his claim at third base for the Mets. On the season, Vientos now has 10 home runs and 39 RBI in 190 plate appearances between Triple-A and the majors. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:29 pm

    • Mark Vientos homers in loss to D-Backs
Mark Vientos went 2-for-4 with a home run against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Vientos crossed home plate for two of the Mets’ five runs on Saturday, starting with a solo blast off Slade Cecconi to lead off the fifth inning. He led off the ninth with an infield hit and scored on a groundout. The 24-year-old third baseman is slashing .340/.386/.642 with four homers and nine RBI across 57 plate appearances. • Mark Vientos goes 3-for-5 in start
Mark Vientos went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 10-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Vientos received a vote of confidence before this game with Brett Baty being sent down to the minor leagues. That gives Vientos full runway to be the Mets’ starting third baseman for the foreseeable future. He should firmly be on all fantasy radars with a .327/.377/.592 slash line in 49 at-bats this season. • Looks like everyday third baseman
Vientos is expected to serve as the Mets' everyday third baseman after the club optioned Brett Baty to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Baty had started at third base in four of the Mets' previous five matchups versus right-handed pitchers, but the 24-year-old was unable to break out of his extended slump at the plate. He ends his time on the Mets' 26-man active roster having hit just .132 over his last 15 games, leaving Vientos as the big club's top option at the hot corner against both right- and left-handed pitching. Though he's an inferior defender compared to Baty, Vientos has been the far more effective hitter of the two at the big-league level this season, posting a .945 OPS over 48 plate appearances for the Mets. With Baty at least temporarily removed from the mix and a path to regular at-bats having been cleared up, Vientos makes for a worthy pickup for fantasy managers seeking an infusion of power. • Resumes swinging bat
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Jung (wrist) "looks great" after resuming hitting, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung was cleared to hit Tuesday following a visit with the doctor that performed the surgery on his right wrist in early April. He hit for a second straight day Wednesday while using a lighter bat, with Bochy saying afterward that "you'd think he was going to be ready in a couple of days" based on how he looked. Jung is not going to be ready to return soon, of course, but this is an encouraging progress report. A clearer timetable for the third baseman could be established in the coming days. • Josh Jung (wrist) cleared to resume swinging a bat
Josh Jung (wrist) has been cleared to resume swinging a bat.

Advice: Jung remains several weeks away from returning to Texas’ lineup as he continues to work his way back from early-April surgery on his right wrist. He’s not expected to return until at least late June or early July, even in a best-case scenario. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:09 pm
