    • Hangs on for save
Bednar picked up the save Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing a solo home run and a walk with two strikeouts during the ninth inning.

Advice: Bednar took the mound with the Pirates ahead by two and yielded a homer to Nolan Gorman to kick off the ninth. While he retired Nolan Arenado and Brendan Donovan back-to-back, Bednar walked Jose Fermin and a catcher's interference put runners on first and second. However, Bednar avoided disaster, striking out Mike Siani to complete his 14th save. Although he owns a 5.40 ERA, Bednar ranks eighth in saves and owns a 30:7 K:BB across 28.1 innings. • Dealing with sore knee
Manager Mike Shildt said after Tuesday's game versus Oakland that Profar was removed due to left knee soreness, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Profar's left leg gave out on him after he swung and missed at a pitch in the seventh inning, but it appears he escaped the incident without any significant damage. Shildt also noted that Profar has been dealing with problems in his knee for a while and is being viewed as day-to-day going forward. Should the 31-year-old outfielder have to sit out a game or two, David Peralta would likely be the next man up to serve as San Diego's left fielder. Rotowire.com Today, 9:59 pm

    • Padres say Profar is day-to-day with sore knee
Padres manager Mike Shildt said Jurickson Profar left Tuesday’s game with a sore left knee and that he’s been dealing with it for a while.

Advice: The Padres are calling him day-to-day. That Profar’s knee buckled on a swing is rather scary, and we’re certainly more concerned about this than the typical “day-to-day” injury. David Peralta could get some extra at-bats in his place if he needs to miss some time. Rotoworld Today, 9:44 pm

    • Exits with leg injury
Profar was removed from Tuesday's game against Oakland after suffering an apparent leg injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Profar's left leg buckled after he took a swing at a pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning. He was immediately taken out of the game by trainers and will presumably undergo testing in the clubhouse. More information on his status should be available after the game. • Jurickson Profar suffers leg injury during swing
Jurickson Profar left Tuesday’s game in the eighth inning with an apparent leg injury.

Advice: Profar’s left knee appeared to pretty much give out on him as he completed a swing and a miss. He tried to walk it off, but he was unable to continue. David Peralta entered mid-at-bat in his place. Rotoworld Today, 9:10 pm

    • Bednar gives up homer, earns 14th save vs. Cards
David Bednar allowed one earned run while picking up the save in Tuesday’s win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Bednar earned his 14th save on the season in this one, but it didn’t come easy. After giving up a leadoff homer to Nolan Gorman to kick off the ninth, Bednar would later walk José Fermin with two outs before a catcher’s interference put Iván Herrera on base. Bednar would strike out Michael Siani to end the game, but it was yet another rough outing for Bednar, who is sporting a 5.40 ERA on the year. He’s hard to trust in fantasy, but Bednar will continue to earn save opportunities in a Pirates bullpen that has underwhelmed in 2024. Rotoworld Today, 7:22 pm
    • Kyle Tucker (shin) has yet to ramp up activity
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Kyle Tucker (shin) has yet to resume baseball activities.

Advice: Tucker is off crutches, but remains shut down for the moment as he continues to recover from a painful right shin contusion. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar figures to be ready to return soon, but that won’t be until he’s able to resume running again. Rotoworld Today, 5:17 pm

    • On bench against lefty
Smith is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Smith has a .912 OPS through eight games in June but will take a seat Tuesday with southpaw James Paxton on the mound for Los Angeles. Davis Wendzel will receive a start at the hot corner and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 4:04 pm

    • Scratched with sore hamstring
Ortiz was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays due to right hamstring soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The third baseman was penciled in atop the order with lefty Yusei Kikuchi pitching for Toronto but will instead be held out due to the hamstring issue. Andruw Monasterio replaced him at third base and the leadoff spot. Ortiz should be considered day-to-day heading into Wednesday's series finale versus the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 3:48 pm
