    • Nursing sore elbow
Romano wasn't available for Friday's game against the Pirates due to elbow soreness, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Advice: Manager John Schneider said Romano's elbow has not recovered properly following his last outing Wednesday against the White Sox. The team is officially labeling his injury as "soreness" for now, but the Jays should have a better idea of what Romano is dealing with ahead of Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old righty has not looked like his usual self this season, posting a 6.59 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 13.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:28 pm

    • Jordan Romano (elbow) unavailable on Friday night
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters after Friday’s game that Jordan Romano was unavailable due to elbow soreness.

Advice: The right-handers’ elbow didn’t bounce back after his last outing against the White Sox, which is seemingly cause for concern. The Blue Jays are playing it as a day-to-day situation for the time being, but it’s something that fantasy managers should be sure to keep a close eye on. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm

    • Fans nine batters in defeat
Pivetta (2-4) took the loss against Detroit on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Pivetta's nine punchouts were his most since his season debut March 29, and the outing was a nice bounce-back from his five-run, 3.1-inning start his previous time on the mound. However, Boston's offense couldn't generate any runs, saddling the right-hander with his fourth loss. Pivetta has had a couple poor starts this season, but he's allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his seven appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:49 pm

    • Nick Pivetta strikes out nine, still takes loss
Nick Pivetta struck out nine while allowing just two runs over 5 2/3 innings, but still was charged with a loss Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: Pivetta gave up only three hits while walking two. He allowed a solo homer to Akil Baddoo, and another run crossed on an RBI single from Mark Canha. The right-hander has struck out at least eight batters in three of his last four chances, and he’s given up no more than two runs in those outings. Pivetta can drive fantasy managers mad with the occasional clunker, but the strikeouts are usually there. He’ll take a 4.08 ERA into his next scheduled outing against Atlanta on Wednesday. • Tagged with first blown save
Miller was charged with a blown save in Thursday's 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay in 12 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and three walks over two innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Jose Siri's game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth was the first given up by Miller this year while also resulting in his first blown save in 12 chances. Despite Thursday's hiccup, it's been an excellent start to the season for the 26-year-old Miller -- his ERA now sits at 2.08 with a 0.88 WHIP and 51 strikeouts, the most among qualified relief pitchers, through 26 innings. • Miller blows first save of the season Thursday
Mason Miller blew the save against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Miller entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead and allowed a solo home run to Jose Siri. It was his first blown save of the season. Miller had basically been untouchable all season as he converted his first 11 saves. His ERA is now 2.08 on the year. Miller remains one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball and would likely remain in a closing role if traded to a contender later this year.

    • Racks up 16th hold
Harvey gave up a hit and struck out three over 1.1 scoreless innings Wednesday to record his 16th hold of the season in a win over Atlanta.

Advice: The 29-year-old righty is second in the majors in holds behind the Cardinals' JoJo Romero, who has 18. Harvey has stayed healthy so far in 2024 and produced dominant numbers with a 2.22 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 33:6 K:BB through 28.1 innings, but he has yet to pick up a save due to Kyle Finnegan also remaining sharp as the Nationals' closer. • Grabs save Wednesday
Romano allowed one run on one hit and struck out one over one inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Romano had enough of a cushion that he was able to get away with allowing a solo home run to Korey Lee. This was the second outing in a row in which Romano's given up a homer. The right-hander is 8-for-9 in save chances this season while pitching to a shaky 6.59 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB over 13.2 innings. He's yet to go more than two outings in a row without giving up a run, so while he remains the Blue Jays' closer, his appearances have often included a dash of drama. • Jordan Romano grabs save despite home run
Jordan Romano surrendered a solo home run and struck out a batter in a save against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer was the fourth Romano has allowed as he continues his shaky season. It would’ve been nice to see a clean outing in this one, especially on the heels of his implosion in Detroit on Sunday. Yimi García continues to outperform Romano in a set-up role, but it’s worth noting García’s velocity was down more than a tick in his inning of work in this game. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:56 pm
