      Advice: Additional X-rays on Hoerner’s hand were reportedly inconclusive on Friday after he had trouble gripping and swinging a bat. The 27-year-old was hit by a pitch during Thursday’s series opener and will sit out his second straight contest on Saturday afternoon.       Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Yankees.

      Advice: Pitching dominated the matchup between two of the league's top teams, and Hernandez was responsible for half of the Dodgers' four hits. His second knock came in the 11th inning, when he doubled to left field to plate Los Angeles' only two runs of the game, which were enough to result in victory.       Keller (8-3) earned the win Friday over Minnesota, allowing seven hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: It's the sixth straight win for Keller -- he hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in that span, pitching to a 1.13 ERA. The 28-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 3.16 on the season with a 1.24 WHIP and 74:22 K:BB across 13 starts (79.2 innings). The homer was his eighth of the year but just his second over the last 18 contests. The shortstop has added a .223/.332/.393 slash line with 29 RBI, 34 runs scored and 13 stolen bases through 66 games.     • Teoscar Hernández delivers in 11th in Dodgers’ win
      Teoscar Hernández went 2-for-4 and doubled in two runs in the 11th to propel the Dodgers past the Yankees 2-1 on Friday.

      Advice: It was a scoreless game until Hernández delivered the contest’s first big hit off Ian Hamilton in the 11th. It actually gave him his first multi-RBI game since May 14.       Mitch Keller threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Pirates’ 3-0 victory over the Twins on Friday.



      Advice: Keller gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out eight. The win was his eighth of the season. Keller has now won six starts in a row and all of them have been quality starts. His ERA is 1.13 over his last six starts with a .226 average allowed. Keller now has a 3.16 ERA and SO:BB of 74:22 in 13 starts this year. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cardinals on the road next week.

    • Throwing off flat ground
      Snell (groin) began throwing off flat ground Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

      Cubs manager Craig Counsell now says X-rays last night on Nico Hoerner’s hand came back “somewhat inconclusive,” and the second baseman is not playing in Friday’s game.

      Advice: It was originally reported that the X-rays came back negative after Hoerner was hit on the right hand by a pitch. Hoerner, though, had some trouble gripping the bat and swinging today.
