      Estrada went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and four total RBI in Monday's 7-6 win against the Cubs.

      Advice: Estrada was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning to give San Francisco its first lead, though Chicago quickly re-took the lead in the bottom of the frame. The Giants remained behind until the ninth, when Estrada blasted a three-run homer that proved to be the game-winning hit. The long ball snapped a 20-game homerless stretch for the infielder.       Nimmo went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Nimmo knocked RBI singles in the second and fifth innings but most of his damage came in the fourth inning when he ripped a two-run homer. It was his second straight three-hit game and fourth consecutive appearance with multiple hits. That hot streak has bumped Nimmo's OPS from .708 to .756.       Advice: Nimmo is now 10-for-17 (.588) with six runs scored and seven RBI over his last four games. His average is up to .240 with a .756 OPS and 39 RBI on the season. It’s been a down season for Nimmo, a career .266 hitter, but he seems to be turning it around at the plate lately.

      Bednar pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save against the Reds in Monday's 4-1 win.

      Advice: After serving up homers in each of his last two appearances, Bednar got back on track with a clean frame Monday. Bednar had a disastrous start to the season with 14 earned runs allowed in his first 13 outings, but he's turned it around with a 1.88 ERA over his last 19.1 innings.       Skenes (4-0) earned the win Monday against the Reds after he allowed one run in six innings. He gave up six hits, walked one and struck out seven.

      Advice: Skenes has been every bit as advertised over his first seven career starts, and he once again showed off an impressive repertoire Monday to get his fourth win. The rookie right-hander has now gone at least six innings in five of his seven starts, and he's reached at least seven strikeouts six times.     • David Bednar silences Reds to notch 15th save
      David Bednar tossed a perfect frame on Monday against the Reds to record his 15th save of the season.

      Advice: Bednar was summoned to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just 11 pitches (eight strikes) to spin a flawless frame. It was a nice rebound effort for the 29-year-old stopper after giving up solo homers in each of his previous two appearances. He’s converted 15 of his 18 save opportunities on the year.     • Paul Skenes dominates again in seven-strikeout gem
      Paul Skenes struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Monday in a win over the Reds.

      Advice: Skenes got into trouble in the opening frame when he surrendered a run-scoring double to Spencer Steer, but managed to escape the frame without any additional damage, and went on to limit Cincinnati’s lineup to just five baserunners over his final five innings of work. The electrifying 22-year-old rookie induced an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes in this one, including nine on his splinker alone, and finished with a near-elite 34 percent CSW. He’s recorded at least seven strikeouts in six of his first seven starts since arriving in the majors back in mid-May. He’s the real deal. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.29 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 53/7 K/BB ratio across 39 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a favorable matchup on Sunday against the strikeout-prone Rays.       Padres manager Mike Shildt said that Darvish (groin) will make a rehab start Wednesday with High-A Fort Wayne, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: The upcoming rehab start will take a potential return from the 15-day injured list off the table this week, but Darvish shouldn't need more than one tune-up outing in the minors before slotting back into the San Diego rotation. Darvish previously bypassed a rehab assignment when he was on the IL earlier this season due to neck tightness, but the Padres will act more cautiously with the right-hander this time around while he works his way back from a left groin strain that has thus far kept him out for three weeks.
