      Advice: This was a major improvement on Beeks' outing Wednesday, in which he allowed five earned runs and blew the save in a loss to the Reds. The bad news, however, is that the Rockies brought in Tyler Kinley to get the final out and record the save Thursday. Beeks does lead the Rockies with six saves, but the team's closing situation is as muddled as it has been at any point this season.       Nick Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Thursday in the Pirates’ loss to the Dodgers.

      Advice: Gonzales took Dodgers starter Walker Buehler deep in the early stages of the contest for his fourth long ball of the season. The 25-year-old infielder has been an unexpected revelation for Pittsburgh, batting .315 (28-for-89) with four homers and two steals in 24 games since arriving back in the majors last month.       Advice: Estrada missed three games with a jammed thumb to begin June, but he's been strong at the plate on both sides of that minor injury. This was his fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games. The second baseman is up to a .250/.282/.417 slash line with eight home runs, one stolen base, 32 RBI and 33 runs scored over 59 contests this season.       Advice: Volpe was responsible for one-third of the Yankees' nine hits in the victory, and he scored twice from atop the team's lineup. It was the fifth time this season the second-year shortstop has collected three or more hits in a game. Volpe had a 21-game hitting streak snapped May 30, but he's picked things right up since then, building a five-game hitting streak during which he's batted .364 (8-for-22).
